Are you and I the same person? I'm waiting, aside for inadvertant listening during the 3 Jeff Tweedy/Wilco live situations on my schedule (it feels so good to say that). I haven't decided yet on reading spoilers.

For me, the best place to listen to a Wilco album for the first time is in the car. Again, I'm only speaking for myself, but every single Wilco album revealed its magic after being backround noise for a couple of plays. When the unexpected changes become just the slightest bit expected is the best part. Then, ideally, for me is the best time to have uninterrupted listening sessions on the home system.

Me either.

What shows did you have a chance to go to but didn't?
RaspberryJam replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Someone Else's Song
I had tickets to see Eric Clapton a few years back, but my grandmother had a stroke and I had to fly home. She ended up dying the next day, so I was more relieved that I got to see her than I was dissapointed about the concert. I passed on seeing Willie Nelson at a very small venue because I had a small baby, but my husband went and said it was awesome, so I kind of wished I had made the effort. -
Oh, I'm going. I just want to feel good doing it.
-
you're correct, we'll be there! If I can get over this cold. Not fair, I have concerts to go to!

All I ask is that "A-Man has a posse" be made into a t shirt.

Let me clarify my statement above. If I felt that he directly equated a shitty performance with the Special Olympics, I would be the first one to condemn it. I saw it live, before the news shows this morning, and thought at the time that he was making a comment on Jay Leno's reaction, not that his bowling is Special Olympic caliber. I also thought that he made a joke off the cuff that could be and probably taken poorly. I'll be the first to say that the president should not make any joke with the subject being developmently disabled athletes. Stupid off the cuff joke implying that Jay

When I watched it, it didn't seem to me to be a slam on the Special Olympics or Special Olympic athletes. Obama gave his best bowling score, Leno took a big pause, then started started saying how that was a good score, giving him a bunch of praise. It seemed to me that Obama was joking on getting the praise for the good effort, not for an individually spectactular score or anything. At the Special Olympics, everyone gets praise and told they are doing well. I didn't take away Obama saying anything against the S.O., it was a comment on Leno's reaction. But I guess someone could take offens

No, he knew somehow that it was last night and tonight. I think he's pretty happy about it actually, because now he gets two nights with two different guests. I just hope he's sober enough to remember them.

I think more than anything it was that I didn't know what to expect. I loved all of their albums, but I wasn't sure how it was going to translate. I ended up seeing them a few times when I lived in Boston. His banter and short poems were great. A real loss.

Top 3 most underwhelming bands/artists you've ever seen
RaspberryJam replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Someone Else's Song
Little Feat - the first time I saw them it was just after they had gotten back together and they had that guy from the Pure Prairie League fronting, they were great. Saw them a little after and they were stiff and over rehearsed. Steely Dan - stiff and over rehearsed Beck - one of the best concerts I'd ever seen, then a few years later, shitty. He just seemed really bored, didn't engage, called it in. Sucks because I liked him a lot. -
I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw Moby and he and his band were unbelievably good. And Wilco.

We are big fans of WiiSki. My 5 and 7 year olds do fine on it. It's a little more fun when you have the balance board that comes with WiiFit, but its not necessary.

I was obsessed, OBSESSED, with the Who when I was in 9th grade. This is all I need for all of that stuff to keep me from doing anything else all day!

Thank you, I really need some validation and that's why I came here.

My husband will be at the Beacon this Friday and Saturday. Rumor is that Eric Clapton will be there. That should be nice. For my husband. I'll be home with the kids.

I'll go to Hartford or SPAC. I didn't look to carefully at the dates, depends on which one is on a weekend. I'd rather do that than the crazy overpriced "Dead" shows. Of course, we'll have to see how it interacts with summer northeast Wilco shows!

Welcome to the new decade! Happy birthday yo!

I saw them Monday night at the Beacon in NY. The first of the run. Special guests were Taj Mahal and Levon Helm. Awesome.
