in a time of financial crisis and for the sake of helping out the middle class, who is the backbone of society and the driving force of the US economy? yes, yes i do. am i saying these slight tax increases should remain permanent and continue to rise? no, and neither is Obama if you read his plan closely. do you support tax policies that only further the gap between the middle class and the rich and blur the line between the middle class and poor? because many right-wing tax proposals definitely do. nobody said anything about Gov't programs... how about paying down our damn debt first?

funny thing is, i know a LOT of people (including 3 direct relatives) making over $250k voting for Obama who don't even flinch at his tax proposals. maybe the folks I know just aren't driven by money and greed?

exactly... here's a scenario giving a 1% tax cut to someone making $40,000 results in them getting back an extra $400 a year giving a 1% tax cut to someone making $4,000,000 results in them getting an extra $40,000 a year (ie: the gross take home of the person in the previous model) how on earth would the persion making $4 million a year truly benefit from that extra $40,000 (a new car? paying off a boat? a year of college for their kid?), vs. what the person who got back $400 could do (barely 2 months of groceries).

well, considering the McCain's could sell off 12 of their 13 homes and could probably help out well over 100-200 normal Americans stay in their homes as a result, you tell me...

that's cool, my wife does too, but very few Arcade Fire fans on my site feel the same way i think some fans and critics were way too harsh on 'Neon Bible' and that the reality lies somewhere in between. i could maybe agree it's a more consistent record, but the highs aren't even remotely as good as Funeral for me. you just answered your own question, and why Aman is fully allowed to feel the way he does... doesn't make it right, but doesn't make it wrong or necessarily bad either. do i wish the US was less divided these days? sure, i'd hope everyone would agree with that.

now do i think he'll do a BAD job? no... but I realize that there's a lot of factors involved in how good or bad of a job a President can do, often times out of their hands (sure 9/11 didn't help GW, but he squandered the sympathy and unity that came out of it with the Iraq War, so...) look back the last 8 years, deviate from that a bit, up or down, for better or worse, your pick, and voila... basically what i'm saying is, a McCain Presidency would not change America's course (for the better or worse... well it could GET worse, but it would be a continued downward slide, not a completel
