  1. i think we can bi-partisanly agree this is totally awesome:
  2. if it's at Noon... wonder if there's any possibility of them being the special guest here in St. Paul with the Beastie Boys, Ben Harper, & Tenacious D at 7pm... not likely, but hey
  3. anyone else think Pegi & Sue kinda look somewhat alike?
  4. while i don't think Carter was a great president, the interest rates (and to a lesser extent the oil crisis) had little to do with his Presidency directly, there were a lot of outside factors at work (much like during Clinton & Bush Jr.) also, with inflation adjusted, home prices were way more out of reach in the early 90's even with the lower interest rates, because home prices were vastly inflated. it's not cut and dry to just say "hey look at how high mortage interest rates were in 1979" without considering how cheap home prices still were at that point. much like the situation we'r
  5. crazy talk. why do you hate freedom?
  6. that song has such a Neil vibe it kills me. that refrain, while pretty simplistic, is also pretty poweful
  7. agree to disagree again, sorry the title cut on Furr > title cut on WMN, as amazing as WMN is as a song. i'd probably put 4-5 songs on Furr ahead of anything BT has released prior
  8. no, but Joe Lieberman said that EITHER candidate would be tested by a crisis back in July: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/06/29/...in4217516.shtml
  9. paid $2.19 yesterday here in the south metro of the Twin Cities
  10. nothing... but it earned Ryan his worst reviews to date
  11. yeah, i never hated on RNR like most of the critics myself. hell, Burning Photographs is one of my fave Ryan songs
  12. Magick is fun, but also really really dumb. not that Ryan's been immune from dumb lyrics in the past i suppose.
  13. man how awesome would a full recording of them together be?
  14. guess we'll see when the retail is out... sure hoping he's not responsible for that crap anyway
  15. pretty sure it was posted/mentioned somewhere that Jon Graboff wrote that one
  16. 'Into The Pink' was their most successful album. Dave Grohl produced it and 'Baby Got Shot' saw some decent MTV airtime, but a lot of people seem to prefer the debut 'Souls For Sale'. i actually didn't mind their "comeback" album 'La Musica Negra" either. Verbena actually introduced me to Idlewild... i saw them open for Verbena when I first moved to Mpls in either late '99 or early '00.
  17. his old band, Verbena, were a killer rock band in the 90's as well, highly recommended
  18. it leaked on 8/22... 2 months long enough? :/
  19. so you're saying i should go see them w/ Girl Talk on Nov 3?
  20. yeah... i think that's the issue for me too. sure there's been killer songs on Sunlandic & Hissing Fauna, and to a lesser extent this new one, but on the whole it's just too much of a chore to sit through an entire OM record as of late.
