  1. hate to say it, but the new one is more like the last than those first two it's mellower on the whole though than the last i thought the last one had some killer songs, but the sound and overall tone of the record was kinda butt/glam-rock-ish. my favorite thing is still the Holy Roller Novocaine EP. i like this band a decent bit, but the critics/fans claiming they're the best US rock band around need their head examined
  2. while i really love Acid Tongue, i don't think it's even as good as Rabbit Fur Coat
  3. 2.1 is rockin' so far way way faster and apps install very quickly from the phone (i stopped doing it after a while and just did it straight from iTunes after 2 fuckups needing hard restores) also, after the app finishes upgrading, they go back to the place they were. whereas before it fucked up any customized home page ordering you had done . they really need to add home page folders here soon, it's gotta happen.
  4. yeah it was great, just had 3 really great predecessors is it's biggest "flaw"
  5. Cookie Mountain was light years musically ahead of the first EP and LP, and this only furthers their sound even more. the EP and first album showed a ton of promise, but musically i found both lacking and the borderline acapella grew tiring after a bit. i can certainly see it ending up in my top 3 at the end of the year, but there's still a handful of potentially great albums to be released (Doves possibly for one) Lover's Day is stunning
  6. not quite, but top 5 for me after only a week, no doubt about that
  7. true... at least so far there's nothing as groan-worthy as "my lifestyle determines my deathstyle"
  8. yeah, even if a ton of it is totally recycled from their 80's selves, it's still catchy and gritty as hell riffs. the songs themselves aren't super super strong save for a few, but i've always felt that as much as i love/loved their 80's records, songwriting-wise a lot of their 90's stuff is superior in terms of lyrics and hooks, just musically it was never nearly as fulfilling.
  9. finally listened to this full thing... it's definitely light years better than St. Anger, Re-Load, and Load, no doubt about that. and if Hetfield's vocals and lyrics weren't the total weakspot of the record, it might actually compare to pre 90's Metallica, but as such, it's merely just a very good record that employs a number of recycled riffs/ideas but certainly not without a handful of embarassing moments. if Hetfield would stop doing the f'n annoying as hell "aaahhhh" after every line that would at least help. kinda shocked that i like it as much as i do, because i really don't care a
  10. you'll get tickets, i doubt the show even sells out
  11. House of Represenatives + Senate = Congress = Legislature therefore being a member of state legislature = a senator or representative as for GW's stint as governor... that's fine, but would he have gotten there without his daddy being the former President of the US? i'm gonna have to say no on that one...
  12. you do realize Abraham Lincon and Obama's political experience prior to the Presidency was virtually identical yes? both had 8 years in the IL State Legislature and were a one term Senator from IL i love that "experience" is all the sudden the big issue this year. why weren't you folks crying foul regarding GW's similar "lack of experience" in 2000? you could have avoided a lot of bad shit had you considered that then...
  13. yeah, they're not cheap, but when i looked into my BlackBerry that i had on T-Mobile, it would have cost me $79-99 on Sprint, AT&T and Verizon to get a comparable plan it's a $25 monthly premium over my BlackBerry (which was $59 for 1000 anytime, unlimited data & texts), but so far it's been worth it
  14. that's why you use Opera Mini the BB browser has improved a lot though with 4.5, and even moreso with OS 4.6 (only on the BB Bold currently)
  15. BlackBerrys don't SUCK for browsing, but iPhone's are definitely better as for the iPhone vs. the Instinct... i think the monthly costs would be about the same if not more for Sprint no? what's the cost on the Instict? at $199 for the 8 gig iPhone (honestly, with all the streaming media apps for it now, capacity is no longer a big issue), i'd think it's a pretty good deal unless you can get 2 Instict's for free. i had 2 BlackBerrys the last 2 years (Pearl and it's bigger sister, the 8120), and loved both, but in the month i've had my iPhone i can safely say that despite a few small negat
  16. that's all fine and dandy, and good for you guys, i'm just saying the irony of the far right is often very hilarious. what is 'typical' about my post? pointing out hypocrisy where i see fit?
  17. regardless of that... people claim so-called moral high-ground when it comes to their stance on abortion, but when it comes time to support those babies after they're born... oh no, you're 100% on your own then fuckers typical.
  18. you can't have it both ways though... unless you want to be called a hypocrite
  19. Palin's police chief hire, whose hire she called the "best decision [she] ever made" wanted to make rape victims pay for forensics, etc. http://www.minnesotaindependent.com/8152/r...ape-victims-pay
  20. promos are out, but yes it's on myspace for anyone to listen to, forgot to link it, woops! http://www.myspace.com/jennylewismusic
  21. reaaaaaaaaally good please just dump Rilo Kiley and focus on your solo stuff full time Jenny... the last RK album was horrendous
  22. your bold is OTM but the "on demand" comment... people need to realize that abortions will still happen in a shit ton even if it was outlawed. do you really want to go back to the era of back alley abortions??
