yes, yes it would... breaking down color barriers, no matter who does it, is for the betterment of our nation an mankind. hopefully more people your age, and more and more folks younger than you grow up with that viewpoint, but i can safely say you're in a very VERY VERY small minority who are able to hold that view.

ahh, ok *phew*

come on now... republican or democrat, black or white, unless you're a total fucking racist, what happened tonight (no matter the outcome in November) made history and has changed the course of history in the US and the face of American politics for life. how that can be construed as anything short of amazing and for good, is beyond me. even if i find McCain's 'congrats' ad to be a sort of smug attempt to 'be the bigger man', the text of it is right on
-
i realize you're not invested in either candidate, but have you ever been in the past? (i can understand if you haven't, this is only my 3rd or 4th time in the 20 or so years that i've been politically aware that i have) when you are, it's easy to understand how something like this excites the base and fires people up.

the site is based off Barack's proposals on his website, so in that aspect it IS accurate. i was just saying that who knows what it'll actually end up being. i mostly cared about the difference in what my taxes would do under McCain, not exactly Barack. then again, i'm not as gung-ho anti-taxes like lots of Conservatives are
-
nobody is saying that site is actually accurate... i just thought it was amusing but the fact remains, completely irregardless of what Obama has proposed or what would possibly happen under his presidency, is that McCain will help your bottom line more if you're rich (household making $250k+ or more) than if you're middle class, which is most people's point i think. if you can say that isn't true, by all means, show us
-
Your Obama Tax Cut is: $1,422.73 John McCain would tax you $791.59 MORE than Barack Obama.
-
p.s. if any Hillary supporter ever whines to me about Barack's supposed "lack of experience", i'll be sure to point out to them that he has 3 years more ELECTED political office experience than her, and that 4 years as First Lady isn't exactly the most lauded experience (otherwise, Laura Bush would be nearly qualified to be President)

McCain's 2008 RNC stage setup (clearly they love America much more than the Democrats, it's pretty obvious from this stage): you swap out those American flags w/ Nazi germany flags and it resembles a Nuremberg-esque Rally ZOMG McCain is channeling Hitler, that's much worse than "Ancient Greece"!!!!!
-
wtf... the people saying it's a 'mock greek temple' stage setup... have you people never stepped foot in, or seen photos of the United States capitol city? srsly folks: Bush's 2004 RNC stage also:
-
dude... it's for real... i'll see if i can find the actual video online
-
not really... the 2nd track (that's only .99) is a 100% legit song though, and pretty good but this isn't anywhere near the quality of 49:00 the first one is pretty humorous in some spots though if nothing else Tom Waits is on the first track, towards the end (of the 20 minutes), which leads me to believe it's an old recording from the 'Don't Tell A Soul' sessions when Tom recorded 'Date To Church' w/ the Mats'.
-
this one is pretty fucked up minus the 2nd single... the $3.99 one isn't exactly worth the $$ IMO, but i figure we're only $1.98 invested in 49:00 + 5:05 at this point
-
it's pretty easy to find most any album online to listen to free... just my suggestion as for what i love so much about it, is the 4 part harmonies and often haunting (and gorgeous) melodies
-
very sad
-
well, if your only exposure is YouTube... the least you could do is check out the album, then decide... just a suggestion

Hopefully a first time home buyer soon!

we used our Realtor's recommended home inspector and loan office, but we're also related to said Realtor our inspector was actually really really stringent/strict, especially compared to the Mpls city inspector. we actually had an almost dealbreaker that we got resolved with regards to the location of the breaker box in the basement that the Mpls inspectors missed 3 sales in a row. -
What Comes At The End is my favorite Cloud Cult song evah, so i'm biased towards HH for that reason

that makes me feel pretty good about our property taxes here in Minneapolis then... (they even went down last year ) wish we could have done 20%, but we would have had to save a pretty good chunk of our income for 4-5 years just to hit that and were so so sick and tired of renting for the last 8 years. like Austrya, we're hoping in a year or so we can start doing double payments. -
for me, Happy Hippo is my fave, followed every so closely by Meaning of 8 and then Feel Good Ghosts surprised you're not that big on Happy Hippo... that was the record where they stepped it up a bunch of notches from the previous ones, especially production wise.
-
wow. surprised to see the love for Cloud Cult! i love the record, but it's my 3rd fave of theirs, and not even in my top 3 local releases on the year
-
overwhelmingly negative? no offense, but if you honestly think that, you haven't followed past elections very closely not denying that there's been some negative stuff thrown back, and it's not a matter of who started what (even if it was McCain, and prior, Hillary), but McCain's ad's so far the last 2 months have made Barack's look like puppies and flowers comparatively.

fwiw, the only Prius they sell currently (and have since 2004) is the hatchback: the Sedan was the old model sold from 2001 to 2003: also, re: for the sole purpose of driving in the HOV lane in the Bay Area... good luck getting one of the permits for doing so... my friend moved to Berkeley in June of '06 with an '07 Civic Hybrid and said there is no way he'll get one of the permit stickers for his car anytime soon. they ran out of those permits within a few months apparently.

other than maybe 2 songs, i absolutely adore that record... there's some fine southern soul on a handful of those tracks. i think it showed greath depth and diversity style-wise. plus the 400 Unit just all out f'n ROCK out live... harder than the Truckers (dare i say punkish at times?)
