  1. you can see a bunch of backstage clips w/ Rainn Wilson and the acts on VH1.com, as well as preview some of the performances Pearl Jam absolutely killed on The Real Me...
  2. their first couple albums weren't bad... everything since = their take on I Can See For Miles isn't bad, just very average
  3. saw them on that tour w/ Firewater as well (who are amazing too btw) and yeah, Hamilton's scream hurts my throat
  4. those are about all i enjoyed off the last one. it was by far their weakest. i still prefer the vibe/sound of the first one more than anything honestly, but they've definitely progressed quite a bit.
  5. very good / cohesive record, but i dunno that i'd call it amazing. light years ahead of the last one however.
  6. yeah, i just can't take overly afflicted and wrought vocals... a big reason why i hated Conor Oberst until Wide Awake/Digital Ash, when he finally started to learn how to sing rather than caterwaul. Sheff's voice is so much better and more powerful live than on record, which has always been my issue w/ OR's records (as much as i like them)
  7. definitely WAY way better than the Stage Names... that's for sure which wasn't a BAD album, but prolly close to my least fave OR record
  8. it is a great one tho Backwards With Time is probably a top 3 Avett Bros song for me and If It's The Beaches isn't far behind
  9. that's the first Gleam EP from 2006 false alarm :/
  10. y'know... i expected them to not sound as great outdoors at the Walker in front of 8,000 people, but it was honestly one of the best sounding Bon Iver shows i've seen, and they definitely impressed a ton of people who had obviously never seen 'em before. Cloud Cult kinda stole the show though it seemed like, and actually a majority of the folks i talked to (and myself included) felt that the New Porns were the weakest act of the night (Andrew Bird closed out the show), which was a bit of a bummer. they were good, but missing both Neko and Dan, and i dunno, energy just wasn't quite there comp
  11. PM me... it's not on what or indietorrents, haven't really bothered with anywhere else
  12. you'll love 'em. i've seen them 10x now since October and every one has been just awesome. bummed i might have to miss his First Ave show in August, but hoping the wedding we're going to is done early enough
  13. nah, DeYarmond Edison broke in '06, Bon Iver is 100% his new thing, and it's evolved into a 3 piece now.
  14. SOOOO excited for this show... haven't seen Giant Sand in forever, and opening for Neko?
  15. ah... well hopefully i'll love it either way, as the new album is awesome. didn't care for the last show i saw on the Takk tour
  16. did they specifically state that on their site? i know they're planning on having the mariachi band for some US shows... maybe it's just the festival gigs
  17. nothing to "get" really, if you don't like it, you don't like it i'd imagine i'll admit it was a bit of grower for me (still liked it quite a bit from the start tho), but i've been a National fan for quite a while prior too mine came on Saturday
  18. first time i saw them in 2001 they didn't have Amiina either, but they still had strings, and that is still my 2nd fave Sigur Ros show they may have the full mariachi band that they've had as of late too
