One Mississippi > any White Stripes record... at this point i don't like the Raconteurs more than TWS yet, but live i found them more enjoyable, probably due to the great rhythm section
-
how's his stuff? Jeremy from Arcade Fire tours and plays w/ them whenever he's not on tour w/ AF but i've yet to hear any of it...
-
http://www.plan9music.com/Item/5302100139 can listen to 30 second clips of the record there the studio version of Goodnight Rose sounds just stunning... the whole thing sounds pretty damn awesome too... this could be amazing...
-
then this one isn't gonna do much to change your mind honestly... it's pretty good, but i'm not exactly wowed or surprised by it other than a song or two, especially if you didn't really dig on past stuff.

just finished listening... pretty cool record... not in love w/ a couple tracks, Conquest (still really dislike that chorus, but it's a cover) and St. Andrew, but i'm pretty sure it'll end up being my fave since WBC
-
it's a cool chill out album, but hardly something i will listen to very often. i like it quite a bit though
-
that was my thoughts exactly... sounds like the writer not knowing what the hell he's talking about w/ that line.
-
hmm.... the 3 songs i heard a couple years ago were god awful... some of the worst stuff he's done... spose i should check it out... Nuno is a great guitarist
-
the melody on the chorus has grown on me, even if i still think it's really bland musically. and i still hate Sheryl Crow
-
i sure hope they've gotten better... i saw them a few years ago and they were terrible, besides the fantastic drummer.
-
it's sounding like i'm gonna like it a lot more than Get Behind Me Satan at least, so that's good. would be nice if it was better than Elephant too though.
-
prolly just referring to the Download Festival the lips & shins are playing the Alpine one w/ Band of Horses and Wolf Parade
-
^^ i'm still enraptured by it almost 2 months after first hearing it... sometimes i think i need something to break me away from it, but oh well
-
yah, i like that part too
-
the music is great, i just hate how Carl sings "Siiiing meee spanish technooo" mostly the last part...
-
it's a total mess with no discernable/memorable melody as for it being out there, it's not really that far off his really early stuff at times
-
it's got a lot more enjoyable melody than most of TC for me... like even though it's catchy, i don't really dig on "Sing Me Spanish Techno" that much. it's not a bad song, just a bit annoying. i prefer NP's super power poppy stuff (ie: my fave songs are From Blown Speakers, The Laws Have Changed, Slow Descent, etc.)
-
the arrangement on this reminds me of Rubber Era Beatles
-
apparently these are full band acoustic shows w/ the Cardinals
-
it's not on the album? Twin Cinema just didn't have enough power pop for me like the first 2, that's what i like about them. not too big on Bejar's penned songs most the time (w/ a few exceptions).
-
and it's fucking ACE. besides 5-6 songs i just never really got into Twin Cineman nearly as much as the first two, but i'll be damned if this song isn't making me grin from ear to ear... nice throwback to the 50's/60's but still sounding pretty fresh http://cache.idolator.com/assets/resources/mp3/np_rights.mp3
