  1. re: new album... i'd say no way in hell honestly. i'd guess more like June/July/August, but who knows, could be May
  2. not sure about the onsale date... i'm guessing a week from Today tho
  3. damn middle of the week shows in Milwaukee :/
  4. they're going to be doing a few shows w/ the reunited lineup this summer
  5. it's crazy how consistently great they've been in the 00's (well NYCF&G was pretty hit or miss), over 25 years into their career... not too many bands who can boast that
  6. last THREE imo Murray Street is in my top 3 SY records
  7. playing the Vic on April 26th, fwiw
  8. fwiw, i'm pretty sure it was confirmed a while ago that Crispin dropped acid before that Letterman interview... as for Joaquin, regardless of his bloodline, i think much of this lately is an act. he didn't seem THAT fucked up drugs-wise to me on Letterman, cuz he was very coherent with what Dave was saying, he just responded in one word answers. but yeah, Letterman just owned it... around the 2:45 mark he just goes for it. i love the "that's not likely" response to him coming on and doing his hip hop act
  9. video for Kingdom of Rust: http://stereogum.com/archives/video/new-do...ust_052281.html cool video! and great to finally hear the song in good audio quality as well
  10. oh man, check out their debut 'Bastards of the Beat' from 2003, it's great. i dig this new one so far, but that one is way more rockin'. good live band too
  11. hah, true... the 20 questions by Stephen at least i love that Kyp let him stroke his beard
  12. easily 4/5... in fact on the Pfork scale i'd say more like 8.3-8.5
  13. first single and title cut off the new Thermals album 'Now We Can See' on repeat: http://krs5rc.com/krs/bands/thermals/audio/NowWeCanSee.mp3 god i adore Hutch's voice... and damn they can write a catchy hook
  14. the Gary & Mark record took a few months to grow on me honestly. had a copy of the original Hacktone promo last fall and while i liked it, wasn't loving it. i put it away until early last month when the New West release was coming out, and i love it quite a bit now. much MUCH better than Gary's solo album, no doubt. is it on par w/ the Jayhawks best stuff? a few songs yeah, but on the whole no... it's not really that comparable either tho.
  15. yeah that was great! loved the interview too
  16. i do like it a lot, but that song stands head and shoulders above for me
  17. End In Flames is one of the best songs of the year so far imo
  18. no i just hate how he feels a need to sound like a crooner and whisper everything, even on rock songs. it's not that he doesn't still have a great voice, he does, it's just how he uses it currently that bugs me.
