some of the takes are very different (there's some new stuff on Alive)
-
the more i listen to this new one, the more i'm falling for it... damn
-
i got the regular deluxe CD thingy, if you get pre-order through Best Buy you get 3 exclusive Rock Band tracks (Brother, and SOLAT & Alive from Drop In The Park)
-
dunno that i'd call them jangly pop... they're very VERY very very VERY twee
-
yeah, now that i look, it's just mine has a bit brighter colors than that one: and yeah, the re-issue switched the ice cream dude to the front
-
that and I can't tell you the last time i listened to the first one... prolly '07 or so
-
i've seen 2 diff covers of that before (the vinyl and re-issue) but never that one, weird
-
The National, Frightened Rabbit, & The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are likely all playing it. lineup should be announced in the next 2 weeks
-
don't worry, it's not just you... took me prolly 6-7 listens to start clicking. there aren't too many standouts, but all around it's really consistent
-
seriously cannot WAIT to hear this thing... i've always dug them, esp the last record, but this new single they've beefed up their sound BIG time: http://www.wearephoenix.com/ check out the first single '1901', been playing it on repeat all damn day i think they should be tested for steroids and mfwhal, post in this thread so i can watch green man dance to this song again edit:

their manager talked about this in more detail last week and stated that it was ONLY going to happen in Europe and to not expect a US Tour that said, if Lolla offers then the right amount of $$, you can guarantee they'll play there
-
well this certainly isn't bad by any means... not sure what was up w/ those few reviews i'd read... not blowing me away, but def enjoying it
-
Melt Banana. loudest show you will ever see, guaranteed.
-
yeah, i like it, just maybe not been in the mood for it just yet
-
i loved Lie Down In The Light but was not a huge fan of The Letting Go (mostly the female backing vox). is there a bunch (or any) female vox on here?
-
this has been getting some poor reviews, so i'm curious to hear it
-
haven't taken to this new one quite like the debut just yet for some reason, might save it for spring
-
nope but it's better than him claiming it's U2 or Bruce
-
really wishing these guys would tour... has crept into my top 3 on the year
-
haha... musically i don't think it does, but i hear the vocal similarities on that first song on their myspace
-
yeah, EP3, they've been selling it for a little over a year now, but it's pretty awesome. hope your show is better than Minneapolis last week tho, it was baaaaaaaaad
-
curious if the vinyls will have the bonus tracks or just the CD's
