  1. The Beatles ripped off Gram Parson's with "I've Just Seen a Face".
  2. Ok, the beeping is no longer funny.
  3. The only other poster who regularly ignored questions like this was jnickerson. Who, interestingly enough, ended up changing his name to "...". Coincidence? I'll let you decide.
  4. Beeps. They're beeps now.
  5. Am I the only person interested in seeing a list of the over 600 cds? Seriously, I'm intrigued.
  6. I just read one of that guy's posts and substituted a "beep" for each period and it was really rather enjoyable. I may read his next post aloud in the same manner.
  7. "Spiders"...repetitive and annoying.
  8. The inevitable Toris Amos video was one of the worst parts of watching 120 Minutes.
  9. You know what? I'm actually with you on this. At least one of the threads I've started has been moved out of randomland and it kinda bugged me.
  10. That's sad, if he's really suffering from dementia.
  11. That's in TTL. I try not to spend much time there, what with all the lame Jon Cryer movie appreciation threads and stuff. Plus, it kinda smells like balls in that place.
  12. The Ergs! - Upstairs/Downstairs On Dirtnap Records, home of the Exploding Hearts (RIP)

  15. Ben Weasel and His Iron String Quartet - These Ones Are Bitter Teenage Bottlerocket - Total Sam Cooke - Live @ the Harlem Sq. Club The Slackers - Peculiar The Clash on Broadway
  16. I've got the Otis! 4 cd boxset, which is abso-fucking-lutely amazing, and I've also got a Monterey Pop dvd with Otis' set and the Jimi Hendrix doc. Wanna come over tonight for dinner and a movie?
  17. I like Wilco a lot (the first four albums, anyway), but I can think of at least a couple dozen bands I like better.
  18. I DVR'd this, but still managed to catch about 10 minutes (focusing on Stax's 1967 European tour, Otis at Monterey Pop and his tragic death). The live footage I saw is absolutely amazing, and it was the first time I'd ever seen Otis' widow interviewed. Check your local PBS station's schedule if you're interested - I know they are going to be replaying this a bit.
  19. Have you ever seen The Quarterback Princess?
  20. In terms of nearly identical movie runs, nothing beats the 1987-1989-ish run of movies with old dudes and kids who switch bodies with hilarity ensuing. My favorite of these is probably the most underrated one, with George Burns in it. Which I don't know that I ever actually saw.
  21. Has there ever been a better movie about a stock broker on the run from the mafia posing as a high school student and living in his teenage cousin's bedroom? I sincerely doubt it.
