  1. I'm unsure if I can safely continue this witty banter without staying on topic, so I'd like to sum up with the following: I spent 20 minutes of my lunch hour today reading a Joe Strummer bio in my car because there was a guy in our break room talking so loudly I wanted to hurt him. Badly. Oh, and I drive a Jetta and I once laminated a membership card a girl in graphics made for me claiming I was the founding member of the Northern Virginia Monkey Boy Association. Good day.
  2. In my fan fiction, you've had a VC Moderator Badge and ID card professionally made and you flipped open the little leather wallet holder thing as you were posting the quote above... P.S. Don't shoot, I've seen every VW ad (I think).
  3. Redemption Song: The Ballad of Joe Strummer
  4. Poongoogling > Earcandling
  5. I once heard Fugazi's "Suggestion" as bumper music on a sports talk radio show. I'm sure some engineer was a fan of the band, but I can't imagine Ian MacKaye would have been very happy about the context.
  6. I'm sorry, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it.
  7. I found a link: http://www.lisamarr.org/music/index-beards.htm "The Beards (2001
  8. Do you know anything about The Beards? I guess it's like a supergroup of awesome people no one has ever heard of (Lisa Marr from cub, buck, etc. and Kim Shattuck from the Muffs). I can't find any info on them on-line, but there are multiple video clips up on youtube - and they are every bit as great as one might expect if one has actually heard of the aforementioned people. I ask you this question, of course, because you're Canadian.
  9. ...didn't have "Live Wire" on it, and that song kicks ass.

  12. I'm all for artists taking a stand and expressing strong opinions...unfortunately not a lot of them have the ability to do that and make good music at the same time. A band like Against Me is a good example - they were a much better band when that guy was singing songs about his grandparents, rather than trying to figure out which word he could rhyme with Condoleezza.
  13. This is the thread in which you personally insult the poster above you. The meaner the better, as far as I'm concerned. Go!
  14. I don't know...but I do know that jnickerson (aka ...) could really get his type on. You're not there yet, but it is still early. I agree, and I don't? You've also got the right to not watch TV, or at least change the channel to avoid all the evil commercials. You're an idiot.
  15. Ok. P.S. I don't really like DBT all that much, to be honest. And I think the few songs I did like were mostly written/sung by the guy who recently quit.
  16. Those are two entirely different bands, you know.
  17. If this sordid mess has taught me anything, it's that people who don't like Wilco songs being used in VW commercials sure do seem to type a lot.
  18. I heard "Mama Mia" in the Moon Township (PA) Giant Eagle grocery store on Saturday and briefly though of baab and his grieving widow.
