  1. A couple of more-recent classics: Babe The Iron Giant Yeah, they're "kids'" movies, but they're also amazing films. And, for something COMPLETLY different: Freaks Now, I'm off to make an "Unseen Classics" thread, for recommendations of films that most have probably not seen. And I am looking forward to seeing your recs. and descriptions.
  2. Wow. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2008/0...r.anti.gay.kwtv
  3. Don't knock it 'till you try it Eating can be fun!!! Try eating bits of lots of things Instead of lots of one!!! IT'S A WAGON WHEEL!!!
  4. Now, THAT does it for me. Damn. Nostalgia. I'm right back in my parents' basement again, playing Basball or Horse Racing.
  5. With the exception of his voice, the SB records (excepting Cavale) all sound pretty damn different from The Sea and Cake. A lot weirder and more organic.
  6. My kids have one, too! And yeah, it's still the favorite game in the house... even after 6 months.
  7. Anyone have a chance to check this out? I'm curious to know what you thought of it all, as I am a S.B. cultist. Listeining to Cavale as I type.
  8. For you Chicagoans: Garfield Goose and Fraisier Thomas And... The Electric Company Yeah, that's Morgan Freeman on the left-hand side!
  9. Super Furry Animals - Radiator/Outspaced The Pogues - Peace and Love Shrimp Boat - Cavale Cafe Tacuba - Un Viaje (bonus disc)
  10. I like the Bonzo Dog Band. And, I think that's a funny picture.
  11. I don't know. But it's a softcover copy, so... how much could that be worth? Not as much as an original hardcover, I'd guess. Did they print an original hardcover?
  12. Yeah. That was the last post on the first page -- I saw them Weds. Did you see them there?
  13. A fly-on-the-wall, no bullshit (read: no gossip) account of every single recording sessions The Beatles did between 62 and 70. Despipte the techie-geek bent of a lot of it, the story, journal-like entries totally put you inside the sessions. Freaking essential, Also, does anyone have/has anyone seen A Year With Swollen Appendeces by Brian Eno ?

  15. Please note that I am operating on 4 hours of sleep -- barely.
  16. NMH are The Beatles to The Decemberists' Badfinger. And just as with the older bands, I love them both.

  19. They were awesome. Opened with "Nancy Whiskey" closed with "Fiesta". The show was more of a communal thing than a concert. The house lights were on half the time, and just about everyone was dancing and singing along with every song. Shane looks great. Jem and Spider are still complete goofs. I'm working on 4 hours of sleep. Don't fuck with me!
