Dancin' with Joey... I saw her hosting a showing of Halloween a couple of years back... with her teenaged son. That's gotta be odd to have Riff Randall as your mom. And so cool, too. She came off as a typical suburban mom, with the cool quotient boosted about a hundredfold. She's still bubbly. She's still P.J. She still rules the school. *sigh...*

Another Reason Why Living In Chicago Is Awesome

Nils. was a part of the live band for a while, but I'm not sure if he still was. Not one of the original 2 guys -- a satellite member. -

Prepare to either be taken off into a state of transcendent bliss, or to run away screaming with your hands over your ears. (I am of the former camp.)

Just purchased: I am SO about The Rock this afternoon!!!

He's surprisingly good! Great record that one is!

Here's a page from their web site, with a few mp3s: http://www.indiepages.com/moto/mp3s.html My favorite is: "Dance Dance Dance Dance Dance To the Radio"

It really is. I swear that I'm not Paul in disguise. Although I could forgive you for thinking so.

I love this band. M.O.T.O. = ""Masters Of The Obvious" They're from Chicago and play 2- and 3-chord punk songs with hooks that you'll find yourself singing at the most opportune moments: Walking down the hall of your office: "You don't have to be a dick about it, dick about it, dick about it!!!!" Any fans? They are incessant self-promoters, so I wouldn't be surprised if Paul was here and got himself kicked off the board for pimping himself too much. But the bottom line is that they are insanely great, primitive rock and roll. And Paul Caporino is a twisted genius.

And God, I love that Buzzcocks album! Are you familiar with M.O.T.O.? I think I'll start another thread for them...

My favorite Bowie record.

I saw them once before, back in 1989 -- opening for the Violent Femmes. It was the first I'd ever heard of them and, obviously it sparked something in me. Really looking forward to the show on the 5th.
-
I'm going to see them on March 5 and wanted to know how they've been on this tour. How's Shane been? Do they bring the rock? What's the setlist like? Any other Chicagoans gonna be there on the 5th?

Not a Doors fan. Never really have been Morrison bothers me.

Rumor had it that the Chicago-based ork-pop band was working on a new record (their first since 2000's A Month Of Sundays). But that was already a couple of years ago. Has anyone heard anything recently? I'm listening to that 2000 album now and, as it always does, it's killing me with its beauty. Anyone? Kevin Junior, are you out there? John Stiratt? You played on the last album... you heard anything?
