  1. Latest Los Lobos album was released today. Includes a cover of West LA Fadeaway...
  2. I think that this is the last year for rookies to cash in. Supposedly the league is going to put the kibosh on the practice of making every new year's #1 draftee the highest paid player in the league. Seems prudent.
  3. Modano to sign with Wings. Good 3rd line center pick up for Wings.
  4. Pixies: Bone Machine Steve Miller Band: Dance, Dance, Dance Soul Asylum: To My Own Devices Them: Stormy Monday Radiohead: Just Beck: Devils Haircut The Choir of All Saints: Jisas yu holem hand blong mi X: Blue Spark U2: North and South of the River Foreigner: Long, Long Way from Home
  5. I think this roster rearrangement is the most change I've seen a team go through from one year to the next. I think their plan is to stick Huet in the minors, so that his $5 mil+ salary doesn't hit their cap. Their 3rd and 4th lines will consist entirely of guys who were in their farm system a year ago, and who will all be making close to the league minimum.
  6. Blackhawks part ways with Niemi, replace him with Turco. Not sure how Bowman justifies keeping Hjalmarsson at $3mil+, (he's at best their #4 defenseman) but dumps their starting goalie for $2.75mil...
  7. OK, so what's the hold-up with Bradford signing? Lions need Suh in camp ASAP, and he won't sign until Bradford does. I assume that's the case for the rest of the 1st rounders?
  8. What he said. It's not as if the team said "We want to pay you $10 mil." and the player responded "No no no no. Give me $5.5 mil instead. YOU keep the rest."
  9. He owes it to the players union to get as much as he can. I'm sure Oakland had an insurance policy on the contract.
  10. I still don't understand why it's bothering you. Reporter: Hey Jeremy. You're a free agent at the end of the season. What are your plans? Jeremy: I don't know. I'd like to re-sign with the Tigers, but then plan B would be sign with a team close to my home in Washington. If neither of those options happen, I'm strongly considering retiring. What is so difficult about that?
  11. Well no. I wouldn't be upset in either situation. If Bonderman can get a deal from the Tigers, good for him. Why would I get upset?
  12. I don't understand the analogy, because I don't think the Sox looked like fools for giving Schilling a 1 year deal. If Bonderman was the hero of two world series, I would hope the Tigers would give him a contract for life, regardless of his health.
  13. Like, VD? Or are you assuming I'm Mike Ilitch?
  14. Bonderman has a free pass for life from this Tigers fan for the way he pitched the Yankees in the 2006 playoffs. That was an awesome weekend for me. I saw the Black Keys in Amsterdam Friday night, then spent the rest of the night in a coffeeshop watching Kenny "dirty palm" Rogers beat the Yankees that night, and Bonderman pitching a game 4 gem the next night to win the series. The following weekend I met my wife. I was on a roll.
  15. Dammit. My keyboard doesn't have that functionality. Besides, I wouldn't make the offer. I'd be getting ripped off on a cheaper version of Hitler Skitler.
  16. no problem. Tit for tat. I'm going to put the value of your album somewhere in between $5 - $250,000. You can expect a firm offer in that range.

  18. Ouch. Really? I was considering paying the fee to join their fan-club to get access to better tix, but then I was worried that the fee might go directly to Neil Diamond. I really want to see this show though...
  19. I just want to know why, in any of the dreams, nobody started flying, nobody was suddenly naked and self-aware, nobody was late for a final exam that they never studied for, and there were no boobs. None.
