  2. I was at the 10/16 show too. Excellent excellent show. Thought it was strange that he didn't introduce the band. How many of "the kids" knew that they were seeing Paul Simonon and Mick Jones?
  3. Except that a major chunk of the musee d'orsay's impressionist collection is currently visiting San Francisco right now...
  4. I've attended my first two yoga classes ever, this week. I'm all kinds of sore.

  8. What's wrong with Who's That Knocking at My Door? Not only a nice debut for Scorsese, but one for Harvey Keitel as well.
  9. My job tonight: sweet-talking the wife to let her know that we're hosting the hockey fantasy draft on Wednesday. Eep!
  10. The first reader's comment after the article is hilarious - the writer calls Wilco a shoegazing band.
  11. My wife and I commented that she's been getting better looking. Her fashion is great, and having a much better hairdo than seasons past helps.
  12. This season has been so strong so far. "She died like she lived: surrounded by people she answered phones for."
  13. Indeed. Lions at Bears Pool Report: Referee Gene Steratore Q. What is the rule used on the near Detroit touchdown at the end of the game? A. The ruling is that in order for the catch to be completed he has got to maintain possession of the ball throughout the entire process of the catch. Q. He was on his behind before he rolled over. If he stayed on his behind would it have been a touchdown? A. No. We don’t play with the two feet or one knee or anything of that scenario. We’re talking now about the process of the catch. He’s catching the football, as he goes to the ground, he must maintain p
  14. Just got tix to see them in Chicago. Very psyched.
  15. Watched Polanski's The Ghost Writer last night. Great movie, but strange casting choices. Jim Belushi? Kim Cattrall? Nice cameo by Eli Wallach. Movie was well-paced and always intriguing. One strange thing I kept noticing, which I'm assuming was done to get a PG-13 rating... There were many instances where a character is obviously saying "fuck" but another word was dubbed in. I've always heard that the ratings board would give a movie an R rating if there's more than one "fuck" in a movie. I don't know why they would strive to get this movie a PG-13 rating. Yes, I know that widens t
  16. I read that the stagehand got the beatdown because he SLAPPED Grant's kid.
  17. I hope they don't milk her shtick for too much longer. It's funny, but in small doses. We get it.
  18. I had a connection with my mom with Harry Belafonte. When I was a kid, and she was doing her chores, she'd always put him on the record player. So, last summer, when I got married my mom/son dance was "mama look a booboo" (which is a song about how ugly the kids' dad is, so we were both laughing). My wife's dad actually picked their father/daughter song, My Girl. Last night, listening to Neko Case, I thought Star Witness would make a lovely first song.
  19. Sit Down By The Fire By Shane MacGowan (1988) Sit down by the fire And I'll tell you a story To send you away to your bed Of the things You hear creeping When everyone's sleeping And you wish you Were out here instead It isn't the mice in the wall It isn't the wind in the well But each night they march Out of that hole in the wall Passing through on their way Out of hell They're the things that You see when you wake up and scream The cold things that follow you Down the Boreen They live in the small wing of Trees on the hill Up at the top of the field And they
  20. I see these as my options, (my version of iTunes is 9.2.1 (4)) Controls > Shuffle> By Songs By Albums By Groupings I don't know what "By Groupings" means. And I'm not sure how else to refine the shuffle options. This is how I would shuffle all Beatles songs: Input "Beatles" into the search field, so that only Beatles songs show up on the screen. Then I hit Shuffle and Play, and it plays every song in random order. No repeats.
  21. Oldie but a goodie. Nancy Mallette should have done her homework.
  22. Madden 92 was played very often in the house I rented with 4 other guys. All were competitive about it. Favre was a Falcon, right? Haven't played it much outside of that year's edition. For a while, they advanced graphics over game play, and so lost me eventually. I plan to check out Madden 11.
