An open letter to all you bug squishers

Typically I leave bugs alone. When the wife points out a house centipede with terror in her eyes, I weigh the risk/rewards. Being "the man" outweighs any sort of karmic balance I may be fucking with. So, I don't thoughtlessly kill it - I put a lot of thought into it - such as whether to use a rolled up magazine, or to fetch the fly-swatter. Flies are another matter - I will seek and kill them, if they've let themselves into my house, without prompting from the wife. -
No - the story's about two couples on a double date picnic - they discover an old crusty book (necronomicon), and they end up summoning some claymation monsters, and the park ranger gets all satyr on their asses. I think whatshisnuts from WKRP in Cincinnati is in it.

This movie: http://www.criterion.com/films/780 freaked the hell out of me when I was a kid. I saw it on TV when I was very young, but my memory only retained a couple moments - I had no idea how to go about finding out what film it was. Last year, I stumbled upon a description of the criterion release, and it seemed familiar, so I followed my hunch and rented it. It definitely was the film that freaked me out. The movie is laughable now, but it was a strange sensation to view it again after so many years. It definitely sparked my memories - I ended up being familiar with most of the movie.

Tigers have won a road series! Wooooo!

The birthday party footage was creepy as hell.

You've pretty much listed them all. The lines that summarized King Kong were my favorites. I was expecting/hoping that each Basterd would be back-storied, ala Hugo Stiglitz, but he ended up being the only one.

Anything by Gaspar Noe (though my exposure is limited to I Stand Alone and Irreversible). Also, The Vanishing (not the U.S. remake). I guess I'm answering the question by thinking about movies that creeped me out - maybe they weren't creepy, but I sure felt like I had been punched in the stomach when the movie was over.

Time magazine had an entertaining interesting article - I'm thinking it must have been in 94 - celebrating the 30th anniversary of their first trip to the U.S., saying that one's personality could be determined based on how you rank your preference of the fab four - much like a horoscope.

You didn't like Spies Like Us???

Went to Inglourious Basterds this weekend. Anyone else see it? I think some scenes/characters could have been trimmed, and I would have preferred a story that focused solely on the Basterds themselves - but the movie definitely has some of Tarantino's best work in it - the basement pub scene and the finale stand out.

Queens shouldn't discount the loss of Birk and how that will effect their ground game.

I saw them in Chicago in Feb. 2007. Was underwhelmed...

Who's rating them highly?

I'm confident that one could find as many Vikings who don't geev sheet that he skipped camp as those who punched a hole in the wall over it. I'm also confident that you can find a player on any team who is pissed that he's not treated as well as another player.

Impressive. I didn't know Bud Grant had that kind of power!

I'm finding this whole Favre thing really fascinating... I'm a Lions fan living in Packerland (formerly from Vikingland). A coworker (Viking fan) has already cancelled his NFL Sunday ticket (that he's had for the past 10 years) because he can't stomach a Favre-led Vikings. There's an article on CNNSI.com saying that Favre has already destroyed the morale on the Vikings because he was allowed to skip camp (as if there's no precendent - Barry Sanders rarely showed up for camp, yet somehow his teammates still loved him). Other people have lost respect over Favre's flip-flopping, as if his
