  1. which song? I play bass, and I've never been pulled towards anything by them. indicted? Yikes!
  2. I prefer the term "piss stain" as John Lydon put it.
  3. Well it DOES need to be, if you want to get into the HOF. I'm a proponent of Stereolab myself, but what do I know.
  4. Check for yourself - no non-english speaking bands have ever been inducted. https://www.rockhall.com/inductees ABBA doesn't count - all their songs were English. Linda Ronstadt gets a tiny bit of credit for releasing Canciones de mi Padre (excellent album - check it out)
  5. How many non-English speaking bands are in the Rock-n-roll HOF? How many are on the ballot (Does Kraftwerk even have lyrics?) How many non-English speaking bands could you even make an argument for? Scorpions? Does that even count? Even they sing in English. Who are you going to vote in, Taco?
  6. It's an attitude (and language) mixed with music. Not many non-English speaking bands that merit consideration.
  7. Thin Lizzy The Rocker Jailbreak Wild One Cowboy Song Whiskey in the Jar
  8. So Los Lobos is out of the running? They're the Alan Trammell of rock.
  9. Holy crap - I only watched bits of it, but last night's Dodgers/Senators finale, a game that did not involve extra innings, took 4 hours and 32 minutes. The seventh inning alone was over an hour.
  10. Wow - he just likes to project, doesn't he? Donald, look, I hear ya. For the most part, I agree with you on the unedited statements above. But, listen, you are definitely part of that same establishment. It's like I'm an Israelite slave in Egypt, and you're telling me you're Moses, but we all know that you just want to be the new Pharoah.
  11. Maybe Donald watches so much porn that he thinks that sex just always automatically happens?
  12. Ah, but you see... You don't understand... If you vote for Hillary, it will only lead to MORE sexual assaults. Something something anti-biblical...
  13. Oh there's more... http://theconcourse.deadspin.com/so-many-more-women-have-accused-donald-trump-of-groping-1787729910

  15. Wow. Ouch. I guess women's suffrage isn't part of Making American Great Again.
  16. OK, Here it is. Between 69 (the first year of League playoffs) and 83, the NL East team had Home Field Advantage in odd years. It gets weird in '85, when the Dodgers hosted the Cards, even though it was an odd year. (The Cards had the better record, and it wasn't until '94 that they abandoned the alternating years format). I'm trying to find why the West division hosted in '85...
  17. Wow. Check this out. Thank God for Women's Suffrage. If only men voted it would be a Donald landslide? Oh my fellow men... Blame the Romans I guess. Women were more powerful in Celtic society, and the Romans crushed that out of existence.
  18. Nope - NLCS format was definitely 2/3. So.... nevermind? Not sure why this myth exists. But a dear friend of mine (the first Cubs fan I knew - always admired his fanaticism) repeats it. That's where I got it from.
  19. Maybe it wasn't that Cubs got screwed out of home field advantage. Maybe it was that they moved the schedule to be 2 and 3, instead of 2-2-1?
  20. The other crazy part is that the Umps in the NLCS were replacement umps for the first 4 games, due to an ump strike. The series was 2 in Chicago, and 3 in San Diego. Cubs had the best record in the NL, so they should have had home advantage. Cubs won the first two, and then in their heartbreaking fashion, had the lead in each of the last three games. Edit - nevermind about the league giving SD home field advantage. Apparently, they used to switch it every year. Even years were the West division's turn.
  21. That was great. Exciting stuff. Go Cubs. I remember in '84 (Bless you boys, Ernie Harwell RIP) when the Cubs Edit: DID NOT GET screwed out of having home field advantage in the NLCS because they still couldn't host night games (man, typing that makes me feel like Abe Simpson), and so San Diego got 3 games at home instead for TV revenue. The home team won every game in that series. Should've been Tigers v Cubs that year. Edit - apparently that was a myth. Nevermind!
