  1. Anything by Jon Brion (that man understands bitterness!) but especially: Knock Yourself Out, Here We Go, and Ruin My Day
  2. Did anyone hit up the Chicago show last night? What a sweaty mess. I arrived late and still lasted exactly one song
  3. If anyone has an extra for Chicago, I'd be very, very interested...
  4. I actually saw Matt at the same venue last spring...just dug up the stub, and it was $29. Wheee, it's like they're actually paying me to see Zooey!
  5. Thanks - I saw them earlier this year, so I know what I'm getting into I'd say $10- $15 is the norm here for smaller shows, but Zooey has teh star power - so I'm sure they're charging more based on that. How long have the other shows been? I think there were a few one-off dates in NY and LA earlier this year...hmm...care to make it interesting?
  6. Heh. "Spendy". I'd probably pay $20 for an M. Ward solo show, and Zooey's dreamy vocals are a bonus. Do you really think it'll only be an hour? I bet they'll throw a few covers in...90 minutes, for sure.
  7. Louie, our eerily similar concertgoing patterns freak me out a little bit sometimes! I also attended that Hideout TIAM show, and the show the following night up in Milwaukee. Good Lord, it was fun, Springsteen singalongs and all. I caught the TIAM show down at SXSW too. Love those guys!
  8. I'll be at the Chicago show. It's only $20 or so. Couldn't resist.
  9. I also loved their Sasquatch performance. The acoustic version of "Let Me In" with everyone standing around the piano just killed me. I was really excited to hear "Harborcoat"- had no idea it was only the third time they'd played that one live! I also somehow missed Peter Buck wiping out in a puddle as he took the stage! D'oh! How lucky the Vancouver fans were! What a great setlist. I would have loved to hear "Country Feedback". Ohhhh.
  10. Truer words never spoken. Did anyone catch any of the THIS is American Music dates? I can't recall ever having more fun at a show. Good times!
  11. Hoffman Estates? Oh well. I wonder if there's one in the city?
  12. They also did a Daytrotter session in March that should be up any day now (I hope).
  13. Does anyone know anything about a Chicago listening party?
  14. Great article and video! I can't wait for the Felicers to come around again. And dare I say...I think it's my buddy who dubbed them "salooncore"?
  15. I saw them at Stubb's during SXSW in March and will be seeing them this Saturday at the Sasquatch festival. The SXSW set was surprisingly tight and featured some of the older favorites (Second Guessing, Drive, Fall On Me) so I'm hoping this weekend's performance will be solid as well. I haven't yet decided if I want to see them here when they play the United Center; if I do go, it'll likely be a last minute affair.
  16. CCC, the pit seats are indeed right up in front and maybe even slightly higher than the rows behind them. They're fantastic seats. Congrats!
  17. This looks very interesting, especially for something curated by Anthony Kiedis.
  18. Oh, you lucky!!! Those are some great seats! Congratulations! I don't believe the pit tickets are any lower than the main floor, just a helluva lot closer. I'm going to the Chicago Theater tonight for Eddie Izzard, so I'll scope it out and report back if you like. We're on the right side in row MM for Thursday. [masking serious ticket envy] I'm content just to be in the building [/masking serious ticket envy] I was at that Ryan Adams show last fall, but on the floor. I'm not sure I've ever sat in the balcony there. I can tell you that it's an absolutely beautiful venue and the acous
  19. Yes, they're based out of Seattle, same kind of backpack rapper style. They're on Light in the Attic records, which is a great label - they also reissue rare funk from the 70s. Good stuff. Yep, Sabzi's also in Common Market.
  20. I like 'em quite a bit, but don't have the CD yet. I'm looking forward to seeing Common Market at Sasquatch next week. I love PacNW hip hop - are you familiar with the Saturday Knights too?
  21. Ha! I was half asleep while I was watching, but I could have sworn I saw them "freeze frame" at the end of "I'm Amazed". Hilarious!!
  22. Just got my ticket for the Milwaukee show...man, I cannot wait!!!
  23. He's not bad. I saw him at ACL last year and fully enjoyed the set. He's not reinventing the wheel, but he's solid.
