  1. That's a fantastic record. Halos and Horns is pretty good, too. I can't say the same for Backwoods Barbie.
  2. I will be third row dead center at that Tulsa show. Woohoo!
  3. Mine arrived last week. Agreed, lovely packaging and extras. Cardinology t-shirt and sticker, too. My only complaint is that the shirt is white, and I don't wear a lot of white
  4. Thanks, that's good to know. I've often wondered where to start with Sloan and it sounds like this might be a nice introduction.
  5. Ugh, I wish they wouldn't. Did anyone watch the stream yesterday? It was okay; the sound quality was terrible though.
  6. Well, that explains a lot. Thanks, I didn't see it posted.
  7. C3 Presents, the company who puts on Lollapalooza, is rumored to be producing the event. So all of this wishful thinking might have some basis in reality...you never know!
  8. Anyone know if he showed up at the Chicago show last night? edited: nevermind, he did:
  9. The Drive-by Truckers' set should be airing sometime in January, too.

  11. I think anytime you see something billed as "An Evening With..." you'll be getting a 2+ hour show. But MMJ have historically played some epic sets, opener or no. I'd put Pearl Jam in that category too.
  12. Yep, December 27 & 28. I'll be at both! I'm also taking it as a good sign...get well soon, JJ!
  13. I'm incredibly bummed - was especially looking forward to the Schubas benefit tonight. But most of all I just hope Jim isn't too badly hurt and gets better soon.
  14. I enjoyed it as well, and would place last night's show second only to the Murat Theatre, Indianapolis show from last fall. The Overture Center sounds. SO. good. You can hear a pin drop in that place. Ryan is ON, and the new songs sound great. There was one ballad in particular ("Go Easy"?) that was fantastic.
  15. I am SO into this. Here's hoping for a return to Alpine Valley!
  16. Great pics and reporting! Thanks for reminding me of some of my other favorites - I also liked Byrne's set (he should have headlined, IMO) and Beck was fantastic.
  17. Did y'all have a good fest? I love ACL Highlights this year were the DBT ACL taping and the Band of Horses aftershow at the Parish. Lately they're playing a cover of a Them Two tune called "Am I A Good Man?" that appeared on one of those Eccentric Soul compilations. It's greatness. I thought Fleet Foxes put on a good festival set despite repeatedly claiming during the set that they're not a festival band! And I enjoyed Stars as well.
  18. It's all about Tiger Mountain Peasant Song.
  19. I have the CD. I was told the LP wasn't available yet. There are 4 photo cards that come in the package.
  20. I liked the poster thumbnails from the latest Cardinology mailbox, too. Is there a merch section on the Cardinals site? I couldn't find one, but admittedly didn't look very hard.
  21. Hell yes! Wow. Aside from the ATP/Don't Look Back Pitchfork shows of the last few years, I'm pretty sure I've completed a few of the Pearl Jam and My Morning Jacket records. I'd have to check my bootlegs to be certain.
  22. Thanks, llynn! Should be cool...looking precariously like rain, though...
