  1. Sure we had a few odd folks at this one, but we thoroughly enjoyed the show and were ecstatic to find ourselves in the second row. Two minor corrections to earlier posts(1) the opener second guitar player named David Nelson is not the same David Nelson from the NRPS and (2) on the new song Jeff did not want to break out he said it was not "ripe" yet rather than "right". We also did not think just was frustrated by his lyrical memory lapses as much as bemused, the guitar flubs are what tend to get him frustrated and we thought he was really solid on guitar and in fine voice. Funny to see Josh d
  2. 15 minutes from my house and the Cap is such a great and historic theater and so no surprise the babd put down 3 amazing shows last October (89 different tunes out of the 90 played). Now with Brooklyn it will be 4 local shows in 5 nights. Feels a little like Chicago and February so will even more feel like Chicago!
  3. I think the valid complaint here is for better information to have been provided as to when the links would work and the correct link. More and more Wilco fans means less and less opportunity to pull tickets in a limited presale. This matters most for the reserved seat shows as it just won't be that hard to find GA tickets and with Wilco the face value is so cheap even if i get stuck going above face value. Managed to pull a single reserved orchestra for both Brooklyn shows a $39.50 GA ticket for both Atlanta and 2 GA for the New Haven show that were also beyond fairly priced.
  4. Agree with those comments about good spirits and well performed and also that crowd seemed receptive to the new material. We were on the rail center and some Wilco fans around but much less so in this festival related setting than at a regular Wilco show. I think the crowd enjoyed the show for sure and many probably did not know what was old v. new tunes. Band is just performing at such a high level and like Pitchfork the new album was played so well live that you have to figure they played it straight through many times in the loft or wherever just to be that tight and flowing on the materia
  5. A rarity indeed. I may have to sneak that one on to YouTube when we get home. Great show and beautiful small venue with front rail very close to the stage.
  6. My guess is the FLA line prompting the frequency of Monday and that works for me. Before playing Hate it Here Jeff bantered about the lyrics not having any specific meaning to "here" so I think no message and the show was rocking solid.
  7. Hopefully someone keeping track will post the full setlist (here is what i remember and pretty close though order off a bit I'm sure). This was a really great show and packed tight given it being a festival slot. They were scheduled to play from 8 to 9:30 but what a treat that they played instead from 8 to 10 with no encore break and not much talking from Jeff so just song after song rapid fire. My first show of 2015 and first since Riviera in December and band looked and sounded great, plus we got to say thanks to Jeff in person after the show very briefly. For this festival, daily ticket w
  8. I am a little less than an hour away and plan to go the day Wilco plays. I have been to several different festivals and think in the last few years this one has gotten better and is pretty well run. I am going to see Wilco not necessarily for the festival but a no-brainer unless more shows in the NY tri-state area get added. I think a connection may be that one of the promoter/sponsors is same as for Lockn and for the Capital Theater where Wilco played a fantastic 3 night run last October. Like others, this festival adds artists so this is just the initial line up. Perhaps acts to be added wi
  9. I beg to differ but i think we could agree it is a subjective assessment!
  10. In answer to your question that was Sansone ripping up leads on the banjo and Jeff was dutifully impressed, as were we all.
  11. Nels was back at the Capital last night and played the entire show with this incarnation of Phil Lesh and friends. A really good show and Nels (who sat in just for a few songs last Spring) was great and fits in perfectly with the improvisational foundation that is the Grateful Dead related bands approach. After 5 nights in a row at the Cap back to a dose of reality.
  12. Have to agree of course with all the super positive comments about this run of shows. I was lucky/crazy enough to go to all 3 and knowing they would do very few if any repeats it sort of turns into one long show. Almost no bands play such a variety of tunes and so with Wilco it is always great to see them multiple nights in the same venue. It really reminds me of why i went to so many Dead shows back in teh day as they would play 5-9 shows just here at Madison Square Garden each fall and practically not repeat a single song. It makes all the difference in the world. As much as i love to see Sp
  13. Ripple link as requested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYxhM0E0gKY
  14. I had on my Kicking the Television tour shirt tonight and right up front but we didnt get that one and amazing that they are still some really good tunes they did not get to. I will post my Ripple including the "you killed it" comment by Jeff on the Utube.
  15. no comment, on the comment that you don't like the dead ! it was fitting in particular since Phil Lesh starts his run of 5 weekends in a row at the Cap tomorrow. Nels said he would sit in on Saturday for a bit. I thought it was another great show and almost "odd" to have the one song repeated.Jeff commented on the crowd being better and what happened with the quiet start from the crowd to the encores last night. Not that much banter but others can fill in. He saw a girl with a wedding veil upfront and asked who was wearing costumes and just her and then another guy was zorro but had to put his
  16. I think Jeff has been a tad ornery the last two nights with his banter. I thought the crowd was very loud when they first came out and when he was joking about playing forever and never stopping except for a short break before coming back tonight. I think some bands are so routine with the encores that crowds come to expect it and the longer a band takes to come back out the quieter it can sometimes get. That said, i have the same peeve and Wilco deserves the loud applause that leaves them no choice but to come back out. I loved both shows and expect more of the same tonight and our shot at 90
  17. Psyched was able to get the "traveler's specia"l 12/5 and 6 and 12/11 and 12 for two trips in from NYC. I too was only given will call option so perhaps print at home limited to in town folks? I have emailed customer support as print at home much easier especially since for two of the shows my buddy and i are coming in from opposite coasts and never know with flights. This will be a great way to end the year after the 3 upcoming shows at the Capital Theater here in NY which is just under 15 minutes from my house.
  18. Just a few photos from Jeff's set. Hopefully someone posts setlist as i don't know the new tunes. Great show and well received. Just a few Wilco tunes for the abbreviated festival set - -IATTBYH, New Madrid, California Stars, Jesus etc. share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8AcuHLVy0atmbi
  19. Anybody else see this TV commercial staring Glenn playing drums on various Delta Faucets. Seen it here in New York now twice but not even sure what station it was.
  20. Go to wfuv website and listen live to tonight's show which started just a bit ago.
  21. Also agree it would have helped a bit had the all request structure indicated it would be all covers. That said, we had a great time last night and it was potentially a once in a wilco fan lifetime opportunity to see them play all those songs that, having been picked by them, they obviously really wanted to play. The only reason they played And Your Bird Can Sing twice was after changing guitars for the next tune Jeff said they did all that hard work for just a two minute song and wanted to play it again. Since i have not been able to see them since early last August and can't make it tonight,
  22. Happy day indeed as we wait for some USA dates other than Solid Sound; I grabbed Gold for the 14th and then bit the bullet and grabbed Gold for the 13th too and a good cause too ! Here in NYC other than Springsteen, pretty much any big act is above the Gold price for the good tickets.
  23. Just reporting that i ordered 3 day passes the first day they went on sale and i received the hard copy tickets in the mail before Christmas.
  24. Someone must have written down the full setlist please. I thought it was a very good show. I think they were given a 75 minute slot which they managed to stretch it seemed to about 90. Jeff noted they were trying to cram in as much music as possible, so less banter and tighter versions of the songs. Obvioulsy prefer a full on Wilco show for the extra near hour of music but a great opportunity to see them and i thought Doctor Dog was good (similar to Red Rocks) and Avett Brothers were also very good. Wilco tunes i remember but order not correct or complete: Art of Almost, I might, Misundersto
  25. Funny that the tour shirt was correct and had the information before publicly announced. I guess they did wait until brooklyn sold out. I think central park is probably more "intimate" than terminal 5, but I never complain about a show just across town. Should provide great setlist variation to have 3 local shows in three nights.
