i don't consider managing in the NL more "complex". These guys have seen thousands of ball games - I don't believe the managerial strategy skill set is significantly different- there's really not that many outcomes, although my favorite Uncle Charley Manuel apparently struggled with the mystifying double switch early with the phils.....
