  1. That was the Wheel of Fortune tour where they did whatever the wheel landed on. Completely special deal then a normal tour, Trust me....they've been known to play lots of music live!
  2. I also hear a nice The Beatles "It's All Too Much" homage! Either way....wonderful song!
  3. This song is ruling my world lately! So, so good. Is there another band from the past 20 years more cosistently amazing then Yo La Tengo?
  4. Just heard him for the first time a week ago on Sirius ("What Comes After the Blues") and fell in love with that song immediately. Can't wait to listen to all these sugestions. This thread is a perfect example of why I love this place so much!
  5. After maybe attending a thousand concerts, their show at the Aragon in 1986 is still my all time favorite show. They were just amazing live! That said, I wouldnt care about a reunion. I've kind of lost all my depressed teen angst being in my 40's and all.
  6. Miracle Legion opening for Sugarcubes in 1989. Twas bliss!
  7. Seconded. Best song on the album imo.
  8. Well...unless Plant re-records the vocals for the feedback-laden songs, I don't know what they can really do. The minute I heard the show I thought; "so much for them ever releasing it professionally" which is a real shame. Maybe the wonders of technology will surprise me!
  9. I love me some Rush and like to see the mix-up, but I'd be pretty disappointed with that setlist. Still haven't found the "love" for the new album.
  10. The boot I have of the o2 show has feedback in Plant's mic for the first half I'd say and it's really bad. Since that obviously came through the board and must be on the master, how in the heck can they mix that out?
  11. Lou Reed-New York Sonic Youth-Sonic Nurse Jefferson Airplane-Volunteers Bruce Springsteen-Wrecking Ball Metallica-Death Magnetic Bob Dylan-Oh Mercy, Time out of Mind Rolling Stones-Some Girls
  12. Surprised there isn't more talk on this here. It's a really great album and so nice to hear Billy writing MELODIES again. Best thing he's done since "Adore"...in fact, this album reminds me a lot of that one.
  13. Wow....tough croud here. I think its a great song which in another era, would be a big hit. Would I have prefered something different; an acoustic album perhaps? Hell yes. But I'll take any Bruce I can get......
  14. Things are fuzzy in this 42 year old brain but you could be right. I swear there was some AGIB born stuff played...but I know Leroy was still there so maybe not. Either way, Jeff did a nice job as the lead guitarist!
  15. My favorite Wilco show I ever saw was when they were a four-piece with just Jeff on guitar right after AGIB came out.
  16. Pretty sure you just need Quicktime. Or at least the web plugin of it.
  17. No love for TV On the Radio? That may actually be my favorite of the year in front of Tom Waits.
  18. Well, as someone who owns much of the music I love only on the crappy mastered CD's from the 80's, I'm loving many of these new remasters. My favorites have been the REM, Tallking Heads, The Replacements, Fleetwood Mac, and Smiths reissues. In many cases, they sound like entirely new albums. Now we need Prince, Tom Waits, and Rickie Lee Jones to follow suit.
  19. Did anyone see any tapers at this one?
  20. Standing in the first 10 rows I thought the crowd was pretty great. Very respectful and responsive. Not sure how they could have been "better". To be honest, it was the same type of croud I've noticed at Wilco shows in the past years. They seem to have gotton big enough that the crowd is a mix of die-hards, people getting taken there by a die-hard, and causual music fans who are curious what the fuss is about. Musically I thought it was the best I have heard them play in the 10+ shows I've seen since about '97 or so. They are just a machine now and you can tell they love playing the new stuf
  21. "I'm Set Free"-Velvet Underground "These Days"-Jackson Browne "Box of Rain, Standing on the Moon, Stella Blue, Days Between"-Grateful Dead "More Stars Then There Are in Heaven"-Yo La Tengo "Love"-John Lennon "The Only Living Boy in New York"-Simon and Garfunkel
