  1. I just think Dylan has handed complete control of all that crap over to his label. You don't?? Columbia-"Bob, we're gonna put out the Whitmark Demos and this E.P. of some '63 live show. Oh and a Mono box set and a thingy to put your CD's in. You ok?" Bob-"Whatever....when's the next tour?"
  2. You act like he has a clue they are even selling this.....
  3. Just grabbed Audiogalaxy and it rocks. One major peeve though....what is up with how it tracks/lists the songs?? I have all my stuff tagged correctly but the tool shows them all in weird order. Kinda blows it for me unless you just wanted to shuffle.
  4. I be the negative one in the bunch. On first listen, this sounds like REM trying hard to sound like REM (much like Atomic Bomb and All That You Can't Leave Behind were for U2). At least the last few releases were a band trying to do something different (although mostly disappointing). I hope this is a grower because I was disappointed on my first pass, especially with all the hype.
  5. The Smiths played the Aragon and I was 15 so I didn't know bad that venue really is. I remember the entire floor had rows of seats and the minute the band hit the stage, everyone (in complete orderly fashion) took their seat and passed it to the back. Walking out after and seeing that pile of hundreds of chairs was just awesome. Setlist is here....just amazing: http://www.setlist.f...l-3bd7d43c.html
  6. Saw The Smiths in Chicago on The Queen is Dead Tour. Still the most amazing concert I've ever attended (and that's a lot).
  7. That is my Aunt playing drums in this clip :-)) Oh and my choice would be that Bon Iver cover of The Oufield's "Your Love".
  8. As one who really disliked their last one, this is a nice improvement.
  9. Yeah, the prompter thing bugs me too. Only because as a singer, you sing something totally different when you know it by heart vs reading it. When you see him live now, you can just hear it in his singing the ones he knows vs relying on the prompter.
  10. No one has mentioned Los Lobos or Corin Tucker so I will. Great albums both!
  11. That song "Numbers" is just nuts. Like bi-polar disorder music. I actually think I love it. My main issue with this stuff is his singing style. It's the same voice he had on Easy Tiger are Cardinology which wrecked those for me too. I can't explain it, but it just sounds....false. And I think Ryan has one of the greatest voices out there so I'm not sure what's up.
  12. That's great to hear because I didn't think the "Born to Run" remaster added much. Patiently waiting until my b-day next week for this. God, it's tough!
  13. I agree, but hasn't this been who Bruce is his entire carrer??
  14. Just wanted to give a shout to the Talking Heads remastered box set. Now talk about sound improvement! Those are stunning.
  15. Insanity. At this point in my life, I'm much more interested in hearing a new Dylan lyric then something he did when he was in his 20's. I'd rather get both, like we have been!
  16. Anyone else really enjoying this? Besides the fact that its great to get new music from her, it is really strong and gets better with each listen. Nothing groundbreaking, but really solid album.
  17. "Standing in the Shower Thinking"-Nothing's Shocking "To Make You Feel My Love"-Time Out of Mind "Victor in a Tutu"-Queen is Dead "Lay it Down Clown"-Tim
  18. I wasn't talking at all about the songwriting quality or arrangments. I'm talking about the overall sound quality on the albums which to me are perfect. You can hear the instrumentation and the songs have dynamic range. O'Brien and Bruce seem to not care about either anymore. Maybe I have it all wrong what a producer does.
  19. I couldn't disagree more. Everything O"Brien has done gives me a headache within minutes and there are no dynamics whatsoever. Horrible production. Lucky Town/Human Touch may actually be the best "sounding" albums in Bruce's catalog.
  20. I liked the video a lot more then the song. Los Lobos's original can't be topped and this added nothing imo.
  21. Glad at least someone feels the magic of this solo. Ira's solos can sometimes grate on me a bit but this one is just perfect (like you said). I still contend Yo La Tengo are the best band in the land. And have been since the 90's.
  22. "Pablo and Andrea"-Yo La Tengo from Electr-o-Pura. Just stunning!
  23. Taking my 7 year old to them in Milwaukee in a couple of weeks. His first concert and oddly enough it was mine back in 1978. Can't wait!
  24. Yup. Sorry, I meant Workbook. The disc is really thin sounding, imo. But a Warehouse remaster would be great too! An example of remasters done perfectly are the recent REM ones. I am still in awe what they did to Murmur. It sounds just amazing!
