  1. Fair enough! I haven't had the chance to see him live yet; all I've got are the recordings and YouTube clips, like and . Above all, I prefer the tunes he plays alone, like those linked above. I'd love to hear him do a record like that. And it is disappointing to hear about his mental/physical condition in live settings. I think he's still got many great years ahead of him, but he's got to be careful. It'd be awful for him to continue repeating his father's mistakes or end up like Townes Van Zandt.
  2. Surprisingly good guitar player? Had you not seen any footage of his chops before?
  3. Yes, I've got the Ashes DVD and have seen that footage. I was simply thinking that it's not really a "new" book if it's been out for over a year...
  4. Did this JUST come out? Why did I think it's been out for a while already?
  5. For me, the more A.M. the better. The version of "I Must Be High" from the Palladium in the Roadcase is one of the best I've heard.
  6. You must have a rare version of W(TA) with a track from SBS on it. ;-)
  7. So, will this get people to stop the "is Wilco a jam band?" conversation?
  8. Yeah, but did they "ROCK" on any of them?
  9. I'll still spend a whole weekend playing the vinyl set. I really love it.
  10. Call it a cover, call it an interpretation of a traditional, call it awesome.
  11. In Kansas, we had a 43 percent increase in meth labs between 2010-2011 -- but apparently it's not much to worry about: http://cjonline.com/...t-bad-it-sounds.
  12. My versions are hiccup-free. That's too bad.
  13. Great to listen to in succession. There are some badass women kicking ass right now in rock 'n roll. That closing track on Arrow, "Down in the Canyon," is a monster.
  14. They just added a Palladium show to the Roadcase. Pretty remarkable setlist. http://wilcoworld.net/#!/roadcase/roadcase-wilco-2012-01-24-la-palladium
  15. Not that I've heard. Just grab the version off O&B and you should be good to go, friend: http://wilcoarchive.com/Wilco%20-%20YHF%20Demos%201/.
  16. My thoughts exactly. That's one special evening.
  17. I believe I already mentioned Blitzen Trapper, but now I've added the following to my concert [wish] list. Heartless Bastards Trampled by Turtles My Morning Jacket (& Band of Horses) ...and if money was of no concern, a road trip for a summer Wilco gig.
  18. I never checked out the studio session because I had heard it wasn't much to get excited over. However, I would suggest geabbing those engineer demos. There are some similarities to the other demos, but there are some alternate takes as well.
  19. Taking a break from my A.M. vinyl to read the board... The Atlantic article links to a few other "YHF turns 10" stories...some good, some ok. The Atlantic story is one of the better ones I've seen.
