  1. Similar, but to a greater [and more grotesque] extreme: http://drinkify.org/sepultura http://drinkify.org/cannibal%20corpse.
  2. A Drive-By Trucker is 12 oz. of whiskey and 12 oz. of an energy drink. Appropriate.
  3. A friend sent me this website: http://drinkify.org. Type in whatever music you're listening to, and it generates a suggested drink to accompany said music. Of course, I had to type in Wilco, and...the suggestion was: "The Wilco" = a bottle of organic red wine, garnished with sugar. Variations: "The Jeff Tweedy" = a Miller High Life garnished with a wedge of watermelon "The Uncle Tupelo" = 8 oz. Sipsmith Gin, 8 oz. Nordic Mist, 2 oz. Glenfiddich Scotch I'm not a "fruit in my beer" kind of guy, but I'm intrigued by the combination of High Life and watermelon.

  5. That looks right to me! Great song. Fun to toss in some little licks/fills in this one.
  6. Indeed it was...just realized that. Nonetheless, I suppose I was hoping to hear some perspective on the material that hasn't already been extensively covered.
  7. If they were to perform a tribute to Levon, I'd love to hear Wilco rip through "Ophelia" or "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down."
  8. I haven't been able to give it the proper listen just yet. It just struck me as odd to slap a rating on Vol. III (albeit a good one) and spend the "ink" on its predecessors. I look forward to digging in this weekend.
  9. I'm having difficult starting a new topic in Just a Fan. Have tried unsuccessfully about a half-dozen times. I receive this error message: "No data received. Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data. Here are some suggestions: reload this webpage later. Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data."
  10. I prefer Rising Red Lung to Black Moon.
  11. As expected, there's a Pitchfork review that says very little in a lot of words. In fact, the writer spends most of his words talking about the first two volumes. There doesn't really seem to be much of a review of the "new" material at all: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/16518-the-complete-mermaid-avenue-sessions/.
  12. I think it's a great record and I certainly enjoy it more than W(TA), probably more so than SBS. But Black Moon has dipped for me. I'm partial to the poppy uptempo numbers.
  13. Echo the thoughts on AGIB. As long as Jay Bennett was in Wilco I don't think we would've heard too much lead guitar playing from Tweedy.
