  1. Diamond Claw, I'm about 99.9% sure, is only on the CD that came with The Wilco Book. Where does it appear in the Sunken Treasure DVD? I've watched it many times and have never caught it.
  2. I can't remember a Wilco show I've seen that didn't include a heavy selection of YHF tracks. Being There? Not so much, maybe than throwing in Monday, Outtasite or I Got You for a rock 'n roll encore.
  3. Assuming you mean liner notes. Not sure what else they need to say about these songs, unless Jeff perhaps has some insights on why he chose these songs. Anyway, I agree the absent download card is unusual for a release from the Wilco/Tweedy camp. My vinyl pre-order from the Wilco store specifically said it came with a full album download, and then just today I received a message from Wilco HQ via Facebook of all places indicating that a digital download was NOT included with the vinyl. It even says it on the Kung Fu store. But then they included an email address for someone in the TMM ca
  4. Must be someone's first time looking for a recording...shiny new toy!
  5. Perhaps he's putting extra care into making the Wilco recording sound the best it possibly can. Patience, young padawan.
  6. Sometimes it takes tapers longer than 24 hours to get a recording finalized and ready for distribution. It'll come.
  7. I've been listening on Spotify this morning, plan to play the vinyl all weekend. I have not yet received an email notification that the digital download is ready. Anxious to get that as well!
  8. Dude, just get it. Tune out the noise. There's some really wonderful stuff here, subtle shifts in the arrangements and chord choices, plus some light overdubs on a few tracks that provide just enough extra texture. What I also like is that most of these songs were written and recorded when Jeff was in a much different place than he is now, and his voice is completely different. I'm really enjoying hearing these songs interpreted in this intimate setting, years after they were initially conceived. If you're disappointed, I'm sorry your expectations weren't met. I didn't really have any mega
  9. Well, that was one big false alarm, much ado about nothing, mountain out of a mole hill, etc. The shipping update yesterday showed delivery for Monday. It showed up this morning! I got the box set with the jigsaw puzzle since my toddlers love to do puzzles. I listen, we work on the puzzle together, everyone wins!
  10. From the Shopify store linked in the official email from Wilco HQ.
  11. Mine shipped a few days ago but apparently won't get delivered until Monday. What's the point of pre-ordering if I'm not gonna get it on release day? Every other release from Wilco, Tweedy, etc. that I've pre-ordered had arrived a day or two early.
  12. I think you'd have to be completely disconnected from the world or possible living in a cave to not have heard about the cabinet meeting.
  13. I want to say it's possibly on one of the Tweedy shows in the Roadcase. Might be worth double checking.
  14. "When the cat's away, panthers build their blood to bury."
  15. I got an email from Wilco HQ with a heads-up on this...will be recording this! I have not yet seen any, nor will I really be seeking them out. I'm conditioned to enjoy it and won't need a reviewer's take.
  16. Ok, one more: "You can't make an omelet and freeze to spread skeleton wings."
  17. "When your only tool is a hammer ... is it really punk rock?"
  18. "I must be high ... every problem looks like a nail."
  19. Haven't seen anything for MP3's (which have terrible sound quality anyway) but The "Greatest Lost Track of All Time" forum has your dreaded torrents... http://viachicago.org/topic/52438-wilco-06092017/
  20. I was gonna say "I climb back into the yolk ... without breaking eggs" before I realized the lyric is "yoke" and not "yolk." I learned a new word today. So, how about "if you lie down with dogs ... drag your blanket blindly."
  21. Streamed via NPR today. It did not grab me immediately in the same way as Here We Rest, Southeastern or Something More Than Free. I enjoyed the slower/mid tempo folkier shuffles than the rockers. Something is not right for me; maybe it's the production. Maybe I've been following Jason's social media accounts too closely. I'll have to give this several more spins in the coming weeks.
  22. That run from Box Full of Letters through the end of the set is just a great sequence of tunes, hitting all the "3 B's" of major influence on Wilco: The Beatles, Big Star and The Band. And then to come back with Ashes, Spiders, Cali Stars, Monday and Outtasite? Strong back end.
