  1. I'm afraid to get started here, because I may never shut up. Probably the most creative thing I've pulled off lately was pieced together from seemingly random ingredients. A chef friend of mine -- who should get on that Chopped show -- gave me an idea of what to do with a couple of chicken breasts, a few onions, goat cheese, and bacon. Rubbed the chicken with some oil and rosemary, smashed, and pan-seared. Grilled the onions until they were nice and soft. Cooked the bacon until it was somewhat crispy, then chopped it up. Rolled the goat cheese log over the chopped bacon, then sliced into med
  2. I'm loving El Camino more and more with each spin. The Black Keys have really hit a groove.
  3. I see what you did there. Correct.
  4. You are in for a treat, friend. Listen to it all.
  5. Many of my favorite DBT tracks are Isbell-penned. I think BTCD, The Big To-Do and Go-Go Boots are wonderful, though -- a nice trio of albums with the post-Isbell lineup. Now Shonna's gone... Anyway, now playing: Blitzen Trapper, 12/9/11 @ Maxwell's: http://www.nyctaper.com/?p=8230
  6. Maybe it'll be part of the reissue we're daydreaming about over here: http://viachicago.org/topic/46465-were-coming-up-on-the-10th-anniversary-of-yankee-hotel-foxtrot/.
  7. Tweedy contributed "Simple Twist of Fate" to the "I'm Not There" soundtrack. It was lovely.
  8. The demos have three versions of Kamera/Camera, one of which is that heavier take with a slower tempo.
  9. Not that I've seen. But I've always thought a "soundtrack" of the music from the film would be great. That version of "I'm Always in Love" is still the best one.
  10. The Whole Love made the #27 slot on popmatters.com's "75 Best Albums of 2011." http://www.popmatters.com/pm/tools/full/152303
  11. I'll agree with that. I love it. Perhaps more so than Destroyer of the Void.
  12. Me neither. And I don't plan to -- but I happily spin the 180g reissue.
  13. "Save Me" is one of my favorites of hers. And her duet w/Michael Penn on "Two of Us" on the I Am Sam soundtrack.
  14. Yes. Pretty rare. My department colleagues at my last job, as a going away present, all pitched in and got me a copy. They also forgot to take the receipt off of the interior packaging. $250.
  15. Link to session: http://www.daytrotter.com/#!/concert/wilco/20055209-8535. Guess I'll sign up for my free trial today.
  16. I agree that all four UT albums are required listening, but I do think Still Feel Gone blows No Depression out of the water. That record is powerful. I think one would be hard-pressed to find more intense, aggressive drumming than Mike Heidorn's on Still Feel Gone.
