They are really hitting a stride with Brothers and El Camino. I can't even imagine what's coming after this.
-
I don't understand -- they've released everything from their vaults but one other show?

A hairdo that just co-produced an incredible album. But to address Crow's point -- I think John and Glenn are equally indispensable. And I loved Ken Coomer's playing. Nobody quite hit those skins as hard as he did. Glenn's skills are paramount to the Wilco sound. I think it was in "Learning How to Die" that Jeff said "it's not that Ken Coomer wasn't a good drummer; it's that he wasn't the right drummer anymore."

Nice footage from that beautiful transition we call Summerteeth.

I wish I had more downtime. We had a few hours to sit on the couch with the pups once we got back from our 2-hour drive, but I'm back at work today. Think I'll have me a scotch when I get home, or maybe two, since I received two bottles this year.

Good enthusiasm, appreciate folks recognizing the great accomplishments of Wilco in 2011. A little bit of basic proofreading would've done some good things for that review, though. -
I meant to comment on this earlier... I definitely see the rsemblance between Auerbach's riff and the Tom Petty song, but it's not EXACTLY the same. There are a few subtle differences, but the similiarity isn't enough to ruin the song for me. It's still my favoriteon this record, after having given it several good listens now. The album is phenomenal, and to my ears, as a whole, perhaps a little more easily digestible than Brothers -- which still has its share of brilliant moments.

How and when did you discover Wilco?
choo-choo-charlie replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Just A Fan
I hadva friend in college who had a copy of AGIB and talked about how great it was. I shrugged it off. I had a roommate who had a burned copy of YHF and played it in his car. I too blew that off. My brother had given me a copy of the last UT show a few years earlier that i played once and never listened to again. My last year of college, I was buying a few LPs and the store clerk suggested I grab a copy of Kicking Television, which had just come out. I bought it on a whim, but didn't open it immediately. At the time, my then-girlfriend-now-wife and I had just broken up and I holed myself off -

This is still my favorite version:

To clarify: by noisy guitar fill, I mean, the part that Nels plays now in place of the synth. The dirty rhythm guitar is great. It's the lead part in the updated arrangement that I don't like as much.
-
I have heard it many different ways. I like the synth more than the noisy guitar fill.
