  1. Sorry friend. Caught me on a bad day. Your rig sounds cool, good for you. Someday I hope to be able to afford more than two acoustics.
  2. Some days I think a copy of YHF is all I really need. And then I listen to Being There, and then decided that's all I need. And then I listen to The Whole Love and know that this band still has a lot of greatness left.
  3. Oh I know. Just sayin' that I'm on everyone else's side that believes Wilco is nothing but good to their fans and doesn't pull of scammy bullshit like what's been discussed here. CHeers!
  4. Well said. Most instruments, in the hands of the right player, can sound amazing. I remember when I used to subscribe to Guitar Player magazine back as a teenager when I first started playing. After reading about all of these different players' gear, I was always quite obsessed with getting those guitars, amps and pedals. I do, remember, however, one particular issue that was entitled "Be a Guitar God!" and they did profiles on the equipment rigs of SRV, Santana, Hendrix, Buddy Guy, BB King, etc. In the next month's issue, Dave Navarro (who I don't really care for) had a letter published th
  5. I don't think you understood what I said -- that the venue, not the band, was taking an extra $5 for early entry.
  6. Just about halfway through my first listen. "Little Black Submarines" (the quieter song following "Gold on the Ceiling") stands out as the best so far. I plan to give it the proper "rounds" -- the car, the home stereo, etc. Right now I'm just listening on the computer at work. Can't get the full experience of cranking it up here.
  7. There were issues in Kansas City with an individual representing the venue running a quick scheme to get people inside, a free drink at the bar, and eventually, in the front row -- while others continued to wait outdoors. Essentially people who were in line outside the venue early were prevented from getting up close unless they paid an extra $5. Many of those who came early were either underage or had underage people in their group and couldn't come inside. And then security barred people from coming to close to the stage, saying that those up front were people who purchased VIP tickets. Th
  8. Do a search for "best live recordings" and you'll get a ton of hits. These two threads should help: http://viachicago.org/topic/43775-best-available-live-show-downloads-sound-quality/page__p__1419798__hl__+best%20+wilco%20+recordings__fromsearch__1?do=findComment&comment=1419798 http://viachicago.org/topic/43810-best-live-recordings-%E2%80%93-sound-quality/page__hl__%2Bbest+%2Bwilco+%2Brecordings__fromsearch__1
  9. The band I saw four days earlier looked like they were having the time of their life. The show was full of plenty of rockers and was very high-energy. I took two first-timers: one who's been a fan for a few years and one who didn't know a note of their music. Both commented on how much energy was coming from the stage and that the band looked like they were really into it. I felt nothing close to frustration, disappointment or betrayal from Wilco for the show they put on. Did we see the same band?
  10. GNR...Boston...I'm not getting the connection.
  11. Yeah, it doesn't really matter. Wasn't trying to be overly nit-picky, just wanted to clarify for myself. Right! Right again!
  12. Write-up on The Whole Love in NPR's favorite 50 of the year: With its blistering, seven-minute opening track, "Art of Almost," The Whole Love lets you know right away that you're in for another challenging, polarizing roller-coaster of a Wilco ride. Musically stellar, lyrically compelling and a true album — the artful sequence matters — it's another step forward on one of rock's most fascinating paths. The band has, quite simply, done it right, with a successful tour, innovative videos and a singer in Jeff Tweedy who's now making a name for himself as a reverent producer of legacy artists li
