  1. "The late bluesman Freddie King will be inducted as an Early Influence." Early influence? Is that what they're calling it now?
  2. As a guitarist and blues lover, I'll definitely miss Hubert. Rest in peace, bluesman.
  3. I like the Iowa poster. Kinda wish ours turned out like that one.
  4. Finn rarely gets involved in the comments. 99% of the time when his name appears in the comments it's because someone just identified themselves that way since one can enter a different name every time they comment...
  5. Beware the comments on KC Star. It doesn't matter what review it is -- some of the most infuriating, laughable, idiotic, and insane internet trolls hang out there like it's a full-time job.
  6. Here's another review: http://www.kcconfidential.com/full_content.php?article_id=23332&full=yes&pbr=1.
  7. Here's another oldie I hadn't seen:
  8. Very much like our encore in KC. So good. The previous night in KC I thought the same thing -- it really hit pretty hard most of the night. And Dawned on Me was super-muscly. Could feel the bass drum and floor toms come up through the floor. Jeff commented that he thought it was the best they've played it. And my brother, who points out the tune as one of his least favorite on TWL, had his mind changed...
  9. I went in really wanting a rocking opener. Then they played Less Than You Think, and I actually couldn't have been happier about it.
  10. The last three shows haven't featured IATTBYH, Handshake Drugs or Jesus, etc. I think he means that they're going to start shaking up the setlists drastically and making them far more varied than previous tours, give some old staples a rest.
  11. I wondered how he came to that conclusion. Either way, he usually has nothing but the best things to say about Wilco when they come through old Kaycee...
  12. I was there. It was unbelievable. Check the "After the Show" thread.
  13. I didn't pay attention to the prior night's setlist, but certainly noticed that those tunes absent. I love them all, and wouldn't have minded if they were played -- BUT -- I was one of the lucky thousands to hear New Madrid, Someday Soon, Monday, Box Full of Letters and Radio Cure.
  14. Here's the KC Star review: http://backtorockville.typepad.com/back_to_rockville/2011/12/review-wilco.html. I forgot to mention that the band really looked like they were having a blast. It's great to get that kind of energy from the band and have [most of] the crowd give it right back. And it was a treat to hear at least one track from every record. We are very lucky people to have a band like this "in our time."
  15. Less Than You Think: I was pleasantly surprised to hear this as the opener. And they droned for probably a good 5 minutes before launching into Art Of Almost, which was pretty damn great. The sound mix was a little off for Nels' solo but it was corrected by the time I Might got grooving. Misunderstood was ferocious. Jeff's jumbo Gibson sounded great here. 22 nothings. Felt like the entire crowd was singing along. Black Moon was a nice change of pace, provided some good dynamics to the set. I think it sounds better on the album, though. Via Chicago is always great and the noise sections were
  16. Agreed. Fantastic all-around. From Red-Eyed & Blue onward is one hell of a way to sign off.
  17. I'm pretty sure they have. In 2007 at CrossroadsKC the second encore went Red-Eyed & Blue >> I Got You >> Casino Queen >> Outtasite >> Spiders. It was unbelievable. They played four tracks from A.M. that night. Still counts as my #1 Wilco show.
  18. I really, really hope my face melts tomorrow.
  19. John still has that much fun onstage.
