Jeff Tweedy to produce Kids These Days album

Writing like this makes a lot of Wilco coverage predictable. Everyone wants to sound like the snarky asshole who's too cool for school. -
Jeff Tweedy to produce Kids These Days album

Interesting! Thanks for posting. And thanks, A/V Club, for the snark: "As to what Tweedy will bring to the project beyond a cool-dad vibe, that’s anyone’s guess." What an original put-down. -
The Thanksgiving Thread: Give Thanks Here
choo-choo-charlie replied to gogo's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
On the sad note: I am thankful that we caught my wife's ectopic pregnancy early and avoided any risky procedures. On the happy note: I am thankful for my family and my friends, for the joy they give us every day... ...and for the pains in the ass that make us stronger. -

GREAT SHOW. Sort of a last look at that phase of Wilco. ***

November 1999. Bogart's, Cincinnati. Check the Owl & Bear. It's one of the better recordings of live shows in the archive.
-
I've spent the last week with the recording of that final show at Mississippi Nights in my car. Had I not been between then ages of 8-12 during their run, I would've liked to have seen one of their shows. What a great, great band.

Deerhoof discusses Tweedy collab./sons/touring with Wilco

I read the whole thing, friend...guess I just didn't know at which point of the interview the giggles and such occurred. Again, nice piece. -

Well with out a [laughs, chuckles] preceding the response, to me, it reads like straight-up bitching rather than self-deprecation. Either way, nice interview. -
A tragedy has hit Oklahoma State University.

It's out there, friend. It's clear to me that it's only a small percentage of people that understand it's not Wilco. The comments on their FB posts are ridiculous. Thank you!

Deerhoof discusses Tweedy collab./sons/touring with Wilco

Why are you afraid to post this? Weird. Doesn't sound like they exactly enjoyed their time with Wilco -- almost seem kind of bitter about the difference between the two bands. -
True. So if one were to discount that as the last song, then it'd be when Mike Heidorn came out to play drums on "Looking for a Way Out" that they officially said goodbye.

Yeah, this actually has never set well with me. That's the note they went out on? A Skynyrd tune? I suppose a cover made it so they didn't have to exit on either a Farrar or Tweedy song -- a neutral tune, what have you...

Live on Letterman and Facebook Roadcase audio rips (by request)

No upgrade necessary. See my post above. When viewing the track listing, if you hover your cursor over a track, you'll see three buttons pop up on the right. The one in the middle, the arrow, is "download." Click the button. It should open up a new tab for that particular track. In the center of the page you should see a green button that says "download." Click it. You should then be prompted to select a download location and change the file name if you wish. Hit save. The track will download. -
Good man and musician he was. Loved what he and Stevie did.

Don't get me wrong -- I love some Rush -- but I don't think Wilco should get anywhere near a Rush song.
-
I have two CD books in my car that will never leave. One is a mix of everything I listen to, and the other is full of live recordings by Uncle Tupelo, Wilco and Jeff Tweedy. I love them both.

MU coach Gary Pinkel was arrested last night for DWI. or DUI. Not sure which one -- it's all over Twitter, along with his mugshot.
-
Is it considered a cover if Wilco plays one of Tweedy's Uncle Tupelo songs?
-
I also enjoy this one from Erin Bode and her band. They're from St. Louis. It's a quiet folk-rock meets jazz take on some contemporary Christmas songs. Recorded in a cabin in Minnesota.

This pretty much goes on repeat after Thanksgiving.

This made my head explode.
