  1. Despite that dreadful album title, I'll be checking this out.
  2. Interesting soundtrack to a brawl. Reminds me of an Eagles concert I went to where a fight erupted during "Take it Easy."
  3. It was a very strong prospect that Gameday would've visited us here in The Little Apple had OU remained undefeated. But they didn't. But to say that nobody wants to come here is just wrong.
  4. Digging the new Waits on NPR First Listen. Listened to the Farrar/Gibbard record a few times this weekend -- might be a grower for me. There's a live set on NPR: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=114010246.
  5. K-State now 7-0 after pummeling our in-state rivals, holding onto the Governor's Cup and claiming the victory in the Sunflower Showdown vs. KU. Now we're facing a tough four-week stretch against Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Texas. But we're playing great football and finding ways to win. Bill Snyder continues to demonstrate why he's one of the greatest football coaches of all time. I am a little disappointed, however, that we didn't end up getting ESPN Gameday here for this weekend and they went with USC vs. Stanford. Perhaps if OU didn't drop the ball vs. Texas Tech last weeken
  6. I just thought the thread was for sharing foreign press articles about Wilco, not where the band is mentioned in a story about someone else...no worries. I'm being grumpy for no reason today.
  7. I want to try Summerteeth with Candyfloss leading off now. Strange that it was one of the first tracks to be written/recorded for the album and ended up as an afterthought...
  8. Some tracks fit well in albums and not as well in live sets. "Deeper Down" falls into this category for me. I love Capitol City, Sunloathe and Open Mind, but I can see why they may not fit well into the energy and sequencing of a live set.
  9. Middle Cyclone is so far from boring.
  10. I've seen the double LP package on eBay before. I would've bought it but it was $100, $100 that I didn't have at the time. So I opted to pay $7 for the Gun 7".
  11. Not in the Wilco store? http://wilco.kungfustore.com/categories/38-posters?page=1&per_page=122
  12. Have to go with Misunderstood on this one. That song brought me into Wilcoworld.
  13. Me thinks I will grab it then. I really loved the Gob Iron project he did too. http://www.blackcabsessions.com/?id=1319041106
  14. Jeff Tweedy, Harper College, March 1999 -- on Owl & Bear. Maybe the best Tweedy recording out there. You can hear a pin drop, lots of Summerteeth songs, almost sounds like what Bob Egan might have heard through hotel walls, listening to Jeff write those tunes on tour.
  15. One media outlet reported that his last words were "They found me. I don't know how, but they found me."
  16. How is that Farrar/Gibbard collaboration? I never listened to it...
  17. On Google Chrome it occasionally won't open the sign-in box. Might be a pop-up issue. Sometimes it works, others I have to refresh the page a few times.
  18. Check here: http://viachicago.org/forum/29-in-a-future-age/
  19. I think it started out before that -- as a song in the Being There sessions, as Jeff said in an interview. The lyrics were published in Adult Head later.
  20. We're a solid squad. Have one of the greatest coaches of all-time. A tough-as-nails quarterback who makes the plays when they need to happen. A ferocious linebacker with running back speed. Like I said, we find ways to make the big plays and win. Have won some very tough games on the road, battling it out all four quarters.
