The details are fine but your avatar is unnerving. It looks like a photoshop job on Sarah Palin, which causes me to be instantly repelled but strangly attracted at the same time. And a burning desire to see Russia through binoculars.

They have this one on display on a wall at the R&R HOF. It's more amazing to see it. -

wilcoworld.net sent out a message saying anyone that buys it through April 27 gets the concert download. Wanna bet the free concert download is Tanglewood?

I think this is the best case against. This band went to war with a label, to the point of getting dumped, because they wanted to release the album they made. I don't think you could for a band that has made their entire catalog more accessible (released and unreleased) than Wilco. Celebrate it by buying an extra copy of each of the exiisting disks and give it to a music lover who hasn't heard of it. Do it ever 5-10-20 years. You'll accomplish the same thing a re-release would do.

This is obviously an olive branch extended by the band to Panther. -

Sure, you say that just as I was about to post "Two Virgins" -
Do CDs, records and DVDs spin the opposite direction there?

Ever time I see that main character I think Spencer Tracy in "Guess Who's Coming to dinner."

I don't think singing TMOTTBG at Wrigley makes you from Chicago any more than circumsizing a Vienna Beef hot dog makes it kosher. Sunken is a dudette!

My father (82) and I have talked about it, as a "shared experience" -- he watching Snow White and the wonder of this new animation, the color and story, and me sitting in a theater (admittedly older than his experience) and watching the wonder of Toy Story, the color and story. Two pivotal times in art, and for the kids in all of us. Wall-E is a great story, and continues to nudge their reputation another notch. But the art world turned a little faster on the day Toy Story was released. I saw Up trailer before the 3D version of Coraline. I like the step to 3D, I think Pixar will use the fo

What do you win for a bull's eye? -
I had heard that story before, but it is classic. Sounds like they were at the Billy Goat. I still have my last issue of the Chicago Daily News with his column on the cover. "So long, Chicago." I started in newspapers as a kid in 1979 and have over the years worked from soup to nuts. The industry has changed dramatically and in few ways for the better. Collecting information has technically gotten a lot easier. However, news gathering and reporting have gotten infinitely harder, but few people seem to notice.

Jeff Tweedy The Post Punk, Rock and Roll Troubadour
Central Scrutinizer replied to Panther's topic in Just A Fan
Nah, I can see it in a separate phase. Musically/stylistically it is phase 1, but it's Tweedy without a net. Big upheaval. I would venture that YHF almost is a phase in and of itself, sharing some aspects of the preceding and succeeding phases, but the aspects of the album's creation, the lineup, the band's place within the industry is self-contained. But, agreed, this is an interesting way of looking at it. ... as opposed to looking at it like this -

A toilet that comes in AM or FM.

No reason to dismiss the rest of the album. I'm probably that way about Green for the same reason. But compared, I think Document easily still comes out on top.
