Pearl Jam did this during their 3-night stint in Boston in 2003. What was truly impressive was the fact that they played anywhere from 26-32 songs per night.

I missed this thread the first time around. After reading it now though, I'm wondering if this truly was a mix-up on Musictoday's part. "Production reconfiguration" sounds like they reconfigured the seating at the venue after the tickets were issued. If that's the case, this wouldn't be Musictoday's fault, but the venue's. Maybe I'm wrong though.

So how many people attended this show? I know that Merriweather is pretty large, and that there were blocks of tickets in the pavillion left yesterday afternoon. Was it half full? 3/4 full? Was the pavillion pretty full? I don't know why I'm curious, but I am.

Nice opener in the rain . . . "Maybe the sun will shine today . . ."

All the fireworks at Wrigley Field today and no posts yet? I'll start: Michael Barrett just solidified his trade from the Cubs by the trade deadline. In my opinion, the Cubs need to purge themselves of both clowns (Barrett and Zambrano). Enough is enough. The Cubs have not been the same since they traded Damien Miller.

Hmmm. I see they're still not doing the guitar part after "It's become so obvious that you are so oblivious to yourself."

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone getting married this weekend (I think there are 3 or 4 of us). Good times. Cheers!

With their crappy bullpen, the Tigers are in serious trouble. Missing 2 pieces from last year (Walker and Zumaya) could sink this team and put more of an emphasis on their starters pitching more -- something that they can ill-afford to do after pitching as much as they did last year. Oh, and look, I think the Cubs' bullpen just walked another hitter and forced in another run.

Predictions for what song they will play on Letterman

I don't think that there's any question that they will play What Light. -
This is definitely the only 3/3/07 source.

Did they finally include the guitar part in Pot Kettle Black that they've eliminated in past live performances?

Paging Dr Wilco: Get the defibrillators and save this album

Isn't this the same publication that got into a pissing match with Colin Moloy's wife/girlfriend after the review of the Decemberists' show in November? -
I actually prefer this version to the album version that I've heard. Maybe it's because it sounds like the piano and keys are louder.

If I don't get one song with Sting and his lute, I'll be pissed . . .

My God, I looked at yesterday's starting lineup for the White Sox and each player's batting average . . . and to say that it's shockingly horrible would be an understatement.
-
That's not really what I wanted to hear, but nonetheless it's what I expected (feared). I think that they took a big step backwards with Gimme Fiction.

I'm still awaiting the promised announcements of the super-secret shows outside of New York. By the way, in order: KTM Girls Gimme Sneaks Soft Effects Love Telephono

After the 2003 Riot Act tour they stopped selling the actual discs and now only sell the MP3 (or flacs).

These were some great shows. 7 discs at $34 is not bad. I ordered it, even though I already have 2 of the shows.

I'm so excited for this album. One of my favorite concert experiences of all time came when I saw them at the Vic here in Chicago in 1994 in support of Big Red Letter Day. I'm looking forward to seeing them again.

We're having a "pretty swinging R&B band" play our wedding here in Chicago (the Peter Henes Orchestra), and they've been pretty accommodating. We're dancing to "Be Mine" by REM for the first dance, and I sent the band the notes for "I'm the Man Who Loves You" (a la the recent Wilco book) that the band will be playing (replete with horn section) -- my fiance's favorite Wilco song. Good times.

Actually, that makes 4 of us! Dear God, it's fast approaching!

You and I think alike. I thought it was about refugees from Hurricane Katrina leaving New Orleans (references to devastation, bands playing (like at NO funerals)) (if not for the fact that it was written before).
-
I tried for I Must Be High (even though he didn't play it at the living room show), but no dice. He said that it's emasculating. I then did a brainlock for a backup. Oh well, it was still a good rendition of Impossible Germany.

Panes is fantastic. But an FYI -- it does NOT take credit or debit cards. That is all.
