  1. Pretty mcuh like the Anthology but it focuses a bit more on George. Nothing spectacular. Only clip I had never seen before was the David Frost interview with John and George from 1967. Other than that the interviews with George were right out of those conducted for the Anthology series. Fresh interviews with Paul, Ringo and George Martin.
  2. How do they count CD sales when they offer a regular CD and a Deluxe version? On Amazon the deluxe version is selling ahead of the regular release. Do they combine sales or separate them?
  3. Honey Pie for Capitol City and Sunloathe like something off Lennon's Mind Games or Imagine albums.
  4. Let's put it this way, I have a Best of Wilco playlist on my iPod and I've added I Might, Dawned On Me, Born Alone, Capitol City, Standing O and Whole Love to it from the original album tracking. I have also added I Love My Label and Sometimes It Happens. That's about 30 minutes of new Wilco music added to the soundtrack of my life. The rest have been assigned to iPod oblivion. I was undecided about adding Art of Almost but just like Bull Black Nova I would only end up skipping it when it's turn in the rotation came up. The rest will be listened too occasionally when I put the CD on in the car
  5. For some strange reason I wish I had never heard a Beatles album so I could enjoy hearing them again for the first time. I'll never forget listening to Sgt. Pepper and especially the White Album when I first put them on the turntable back when they came out when I was a kid. If only I could go back in time. You, gryffe, still have that chance in a weird sort of way. You should try it and join the rest of the world. For me, Wilco is the closest thing to the Beatles going today. How you can like one and not the other is beyond me, but hey, to each their own I guess. To stay on topic, BT is my

  10. Fellow Red Sox fans shouldn't feel so glum. It's the off season now for the Sox and aren't they always the champions of the off season?
  11. Cool online music magazine. I read several articles besides the two main Wilco features. Thanks for posting. I'm adding this one to my favorites.
  12. I agree with you about OSM (It could end at around the three minute mark as far as I'm concerned) but I like Whole Love, Capital City and Standing O which I think are on the second half of the CD. I think those three songs are better than most of WTA with the exception of One Wing and You Never Know. By the way I really like Sometimes It Happens which I just downloaded from iTunes. I know it's a cover but it has more life than the other bonus tracks other than I Love My Label.
  13. I think Message From Mid Bar is another slow John Lennon sounding song which is ok by me, but I'd like some rockers if you know what I mean. Speak Into The Rose sounds like something you would hear at Solid Sound Festival from one of the side projects other than Autumn Defense. If that's your bag, I'm sure you will like it. You could actually sing Spiders along with it and it fits pretty good except for the part of Spiders that is actually good which rocks the place when they play the riff part live. SITR doesn't go anywhere for me. Kind of like One Sunday Morning. Too repetitive, while you ke
  14. I Love My Label cover is the best of that bunch...
  15. Just got home on the train after two nights in the Big Apple. I liked the Thursday night show better that Friday's. One reason was probably the rain and standing back near the bleachers and not up close as on Thursday. Expected more of a varied set last night. Since we also attended the show in Boston I'd heard most of the songs played three times. I expected to hear the new stuff again and thought they would do what they did at Solid Sound and play different tunes the rest of the show. I also don't dig them starting the show with my new bathroom song "One Sunday Morning". I didn't have to go

  17. We were in row J in the Orchestra pretty much right in the middle and it didn't seem to have much punch. I know I'm going to get some flack for this, but if Wilco continues to play One Sunday Morning at all their shows, I've found myself a new bathroom break song. Talk about a monotonous song which brings the excitement of a live concert down. Yeah, it was OK to hear it once to say I've heard it played live, but I can come up with two or three songs I'd rather hear in that twelve minutes of valuable concert time with my favorite "rock" band instead of that repetitive, boring song. How about so
  18. I don't know if it's just me after listening to loud music for several decades, but did anyone think the volume needed to be louder? I agree, the show was short and sweet. There was a guy sitting next to my son and I who drove down from Syracuse for his first Wilco concert. He was rocking out. It was nice to see a Wilco concert virgin pop his cherry.
  19. It was over a year ago but that sounds vaguely familiar. Good work.
  20. Last summer (2010) at Wilco's sound check for the South Bend concert, Tweedy was playing an acoustic song which he appeared to be teaching to the band with the word "sometimes" leading off several of the verses. It sounded like a Tweedy penned song to me but what do I know. I do know that VC member ditty heard it as well since we were speaking to each other around that time as we watched them from a side gate at the ballpark. Does the cover version you are thinking of also introduce several verses with the word "sometimes"?
