That's really cool. The best I got at the last show was somebody yelled out "Slowhand Marshal" after we played Crossroads. I guess I probably need to write my own songs to make any kind of connection.

This. I think I have just been playing so much dream pop and punky guitar stuff that this was just a nice change. Had I been listening to fleet foxes and bands like that, this one may not have hit me so hard. Of course, I'm often one of those people that come to the table late on most things. We had a huge snow storm which extended my commute but about an hour last night and this album kept my blood pressure nice and low.

Lighter fluid sounds scary to me, plus it stinks. I have never had a problem with Gibson or Martin guitar polish. Seems to do the job quite well.

I love vinyl but it can be a pain. Usually I throw an album on, get comfortable with the headphones, then inevitably the cat gets comfortable on my lap. Very quickly side one ends and I have to kick the cat off, put the coffee down, struggle out of the chair and flip it. With the 5 CD changer I can sit there for hours with only the threat of deep vein thrombosis to worry about.

Yep, the VC hype machine always does me a solid. Thanks. Really liking this one.

4 somewhat boring guys ride a Segway from Seattle to Boston and manage not to have a single interesting adventure along the way. All set to bad music. I don't know, maybe I was in the wrong mood.

Anybody read this one yet?

I have had that issue as well with my Fender Deville. Seems like if I turn off the power and turn it right back on it goes away but it's completely random when it happens. I thought it was a rattling tube but I had them checked and replaced and it still occassionally happens. Would love to hear if you figure it out.

I can't believe I don't have this yet. 5 new Hendrix songs is enough for me.

Now I remember why I was an independent all those years.

I'm kind of looking foward to the footage of tea baggers crying and wailing and "Fearing for our country". -
Cool, I like that he is doing "when my baby's beside me" in tribute to Alex Chilton. Is he still playing "Kidsmoke" in the middle of "Never gonna change"?

Those first 2 solo Ozzy albums are still some of my favorite albums of all time. Sucks that Ozzy re-recorded the rhythm tracks because that line up of Rhoads, Sarzo, and Aldridge was killer. Randy Rhoads is one of my favorite guitarists ever and all 3 of these songs are a big reason why. The volume swells during the verses of Tonight are brilliant. He had that neo-classical style but somehow he still had so much feel in his solos. Never sounded as cold and technical as a lot of players with that style. I still pull these CD's out all the time and they hold up. As good as anything else ever rel

That version of Wharf Rat is great. Thanks again for this. -
Just got back from Laser Dead at CU, there was interpretive dancers during the show as well. Weird. But always good to hear the dead nice and loud.

I'm now convinced I need to check this out.

Cool, thread title be damned, this is great. Downloading now. -
Horrible news, just heard on the way to work myself. That line "I never travel far without a little Big Star" is so true for many of us. Those Big Star albums have always been constant companions. Wish I could have seen him live.

Just picked this one up today and it sounds great. It could have been called "Westerberg does Springsteen".

These guys are on Letterman tonight. Looks like I have to wait until May 4th for the CD to come out? I still have only heard 1 song and it sounded great.

$8500 actually seems pretty good for that ^^^^
