  1. I have been listening to that new Broken Bells album for awhile now and it's really, really good. Any fan of Mercer will like it I think. Next to Beach House it's the one I'm listening to the most.
  2. I actually love that album. It's pretty much a Roger Waters solo album with David Gilmour guitar solos but some of his best lyrics ever. Now the Division Bell, that sucks.
  3. Only Clash album I don't own. Good to know I'm not missing anything.
  4. I'm really liking what little I have been able to hear from the new Besnard lakes. Basically one song on Grooveshark. That Broken Bells record is fantastic. I have been wearing it out. Now about to play: Just got this in the mail, the CD is a remake of "The Madcap Laughs" with Robyn Hitchcock, J. Mascis, REM...
  5. I'm guessing it will be Taylor Swift next year.
  6. I loved the performance. For all the huge lighting and effects, it seemed very loose and unpolished. They just got up there like a garage band and knocked it out. No big choreagraphy or anything. I thought Daltrey sounded great. Pete's guitar was mixed right in your face so there was no hiding flubbed notes or anything. Even the medley, although not my favorite thing in the world, worked fine considering the 12 minutes they had. Not sure what there is to find fault with other than no Ox and no Keith Moon. I like living in a world where I can see the who cranking out those classic son
  7. I have a big chip on the front of my G&L Rampage when it fell over. That is not the kind of wear I want to see. But guitars are meant for playing and they are going to get abused.
  8. I have no real desire for the road worn guitars at all. Just seems silly to take a perfectly good guitar and make it look used. The way a guitar wears is a result of your own style of playing, where you rest your arm when you play, whether you wear a belt or not, cigarette burns up by the tuning pegs if you store a smoke there. I would much rather put all that wear on myself.
  9. Hey Terrapin, I don't want you to think I was bagging on your thread or anything. I was just confused by what definition of amazing we are going by. Lammy's makes the most sense I guess, basically an album you sit and listen to from beginning to end with no thought of even wanting to skip any of the tracks? That's still a tough one for me, I rarely skip tracks on any albums but I am lazy.
  10. I seem to be hearing a lot of Buzz about this band. Anybody checked it out yet? (The Soft Pack) Pitchfork gave it a 7.1
  11. Yeah, I'm kind of at a loss here. Every non live album I like is an amazing studio album. Is there some kind of limit we are looking for? Like great production values?
  12. I remember that thread! That makes more sense. I expect to see you in the "Bands I now Love" thread very soon. Actually the Beatles only really had about a 7 year recording career.
  13. Boy that brings back some old tumescence memories. (not being a perv).
  14. The obvious one is "Back in the USSR" copped from "Back in the USA" by Chuck. Not to mention all the covers of Berry they did. Kind of reminds me of Lennon and Berry jamming on the Mike Douglas show together.
  15. The Beatles put out a bad album? or maybe you don't like the Beatles.
  16. I believe it's technically Moose Knuckle.
  17. Sad. But your Avatar is freaking me out. Looks too much like my wife watching me. It's like her doppleganger.
  18. Not really relevant but what ever happened to Kristy McNichol? Sure, I could probably google but I'm lazy.
  19. Whoa, thanks for the link. I had never seen that.
  20. I'm going to second or third this or whatever. Still my favorite of the year so far and just gets better with repeated listenings. Sounds great in headphones.
  21. Maybe nodded off and took a header?
  22. Exactly. My youngest loves Lady Gaga and all sorts of dance music so I find myself scouting for the latest "dance hits" for her. Turned her on to someone named Laroux (or something like that).
  23. Sounded pretty good. That's an interesting guitar you have, looks like it has an electric guitar neck on it.
