This one will just keep sounding better and better, I guarantee it. NP: Coworker just gave me this (Page France and the Family Telephone):

First listen, sounding good. Snoop Dogg, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, Mark Smith, Lou Reed...

Pitchfork link also in Pitchfork

I remember reading that Replacements fans were up in arms about Petty stealing Westerberg lines after that tour. Lines like "Rebel without a clue" among others.

I think some of that has to be the venues involved? Wilco is playing larger venues so I think maybe it's a bit harder to "connect".

Whoa, listening to an acid test show from 1966 on Wolfgang's. Acid test Concert Summary As 1966 began, San Francisco was rapidly becoming the epicenter of a cultural and musical shift that would impact the world. Dance hall promoters like Bill Graham and Chet Helms were in the early stages of opening venues where local bands could perform for the throngs of young people looking to dance socialize and listen to live music. Local writer Ken Kesey and his friends (known as The Merry Pranksters) were doing the same on a smaller scale, but adding high quality LSD to the mix, which was then

Still my fave of the year.

What's Tom Zarek doing with Face?

Been hearing good things about these guys. At least from Pitchfork and a few other places. Think I will check it out.

I always picture Dylan typing his lyrics for some reason, probalby because of the Don't look back movie. Man I would love to own one of these handwritten lyrics.

Couldn't figure out all the lyrics on this one but pretty close: The 4th night of my drinking - Drive by Truckers On the first night of my drinking I was looking for my keys I was half blind and stinking and bloody at the knees I had a built in figure And bright red cheeks And checks and balances up shit creek It was all in fun I didn’t hurt no one Till I crawled back for more And there was damage done but I made it home and woke up on the floor On the second night of my drinking I was looking for my car And as luck would have it I found it parked outside my favorite bar

Did she survive or did she go to her grave just a little too soon?

Just got this one. I think I like it better than BTCD already. I'm still trying to get the Free Energy album but can't find it yet.

I remember Anthony Junior had a prominent Sugarcult poster in his room. The singer in the band is my cousins neighbor and said there was a production designer on the show that was a big fan. I suspect production designer bias has the most to do with these things.

I completely apologize if it was my post that seemed to anger you. It's certainly never my intent to cause anyone heartburn on here. I really try to avoid that. I thought it was a harmless conversation and was not taking anything that seriously. As you can probably tell, I don't give a ton of thought before I post something and things often come out wrong or not at all how I meant them. I come hear mostly to hear people's opinions and recommendations for new music to listen to, I don't come hear to argue or try to annoy people. Ultimately it's very sad what happened to the trainer and maybe

I have got to find one of those for my new niece!

Lonoong SONGS that you wish would go on even longer
Moss replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
I have never really heard a drum solo that I wish would go on longer. -
I thought it was kind of cool. Who would not want a beer and cigar after the game? At least they used cans for safety sake.

The onion had an interesting article about fictional characters assigned questionable taste in music. They mentioned that Nick Sobotka from season 2 of the Wire had a guided by voices "Universal truths and cycles" poster on his wall. Have to admit I did not notice that at the time but I have to agree, I don't see any way that Nick Sobotka was a guided by voices fan.

I enjoyed the news much more when the Tea Partiers were called the Teabaggers.
