  1. I was thinking the exact same thing.
  2. I love Marc as a musician but I think he would make a better sideman. He just does not have the vocals to be the lead guy. I would love to see him find a really good singer and really put a project together but I think he is happy touring with his son right now and more power to him. Luther is definitely growing on me though.
  3. That sounds really good. I have been listening to Beach House all week so maybe I will check out something else and then come back to this. Too much female vocal dreamy pop in a row to make it a good listen. Have to cleanse the palate a little. Sounds intriguing though.
  4. Amazing how much has changed. I remember taking a flight when I was very young and there were these drunk older salesmen looking guys. They were being loud, waving at each other and saying "Hi Jack". All that kind of stuff. I don't remember anybody really batting much of an eye at it. Now whenever I fly it's like a library (I was going to say crypt but that did not seem right). On another note, my brother in law is an airtraffic controller and I notice when he has to work the overnight shift they call it "mids" instead of "Graveyard". Makes sense I guess.
  5. Do we count inversions? Heck, Keith Richards never needed more than about 20 of them.
  6. I was amazed watching that documentary. He seemed so completely out of it and could barely function at times, then he would pick up a guitar and he was like a totally different person. And that voice. I would always welcome any new music by him.
  7. In general terms, what kind of music is it? Anything you can compare it to? Although I should just trust your recommendation by now.
  8. I could live with them maybe adding drums and bass although I would prefer to hear the originals obviously. I just don't want anyone going in there and overdubbing more guitars.
  9. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that! I can't even leave that thing anywhere around them.
  10. It's a beauty, looks just like my guitar (picture included). Best guitar purchase I have made so I hope you like yours as much. If you click your pictures back and forth quickly it looks like you are playing "You really got me".
  11. I love it. And it reads better than Pynchon.
  12. Whoa, I always wished Hendrix would have recorded more acoustic stuff. That sounds amazing. Is this in regards to Valleys of Neptune? Nooooo!
  13. Sounds like a good time. RIP Captain Carl.
  14. After quite a few listens I have decided I like this album better than Ga. There may not be a song as instantly catchy as "Don't you Evah" but over all I think it's a better album. I suppose if there was a single to be had on this one it would be "The Mystery Zone"? Fantastic, Spoon and Deerhunter in April in CO, can't wait!
  15. Yeah, where is the best records of 2010 thread? I have only heard one song from the Beach House and I am really looking forward to the rest. The Eels and Spoon are the only 2010 albums I have heard and I love both of them. Could be a good year for music.
  16. What about Danger Mouse. That guy seems to be everywhere anymore. Recording with James Mercer right now.
  17. So "Valleys of Neptune" is all Hendrix? Sounds like they are not bringing in another guitarist to beef up the tracks (like Midnight lightning for example)? Man, that is great news.
  18. This. I mean c'mon. Some jagoff is going to list the Beatles any minute, I just know it!
  19. Really enjoyed this one, very unique.
  20. Yay, you are going to love it. Nice name too! How exciting.
  21. I agree with this. I'm really liking it so far. I like the stripped down song and his voice sounds incredible.
  22. You could visit the old Replacements house (see the cover of Let it Be). It's at 2215 Bryant Avenue S. Then have a beer at the CC Club where they (and Husker Du) used to hang out.
  23. Crazy talk, getting rid of Styx or the Doors over Nickelback? Or Limp Bizkit?
