  1. If I was going with a cheap amp I would probably go with a Peavey. Great amp for the money. And a good solid state amp.
  2. Yep, Pollard by a mile. And thanks for the comprehensive lists!
  3. All I ask is that I get a bit of fluffing before my full body scan.
  4. I thought we had moved on to gear porn, sorry, lost track of the subject matter.
  5. I once met with a Computer science professor at UC Northridge who's main work was trying to program a computerized Go game. As soon as I told him I played go with my dad he said "your dad must be an electrical engineer". Apparently almost all Go players back then were EE's. I played a bit and loved it but never played enough to really learn the strategy. This is a good site for Go, I think it has some freeware for computerized go games on it but I have not tried any of them. I'm glad you reminded me about it, I think I will check it out as well. http://senseis.xmp.net/ The free software
  6. This crystallizes my thoughts nicely. Either an ES-335 or a 58 re-issue Les Paul is my next choice (Since I have the strat, tele, and amp). There is some good amp porn out there as well:
  7. Wow, that's like something out of Old Yeller or something. Bad ass dog.
  8. This was a great movie. Was there a more tense and well directed scene last year than the farmer hiding the Jewish family under the house? (I don't think this constitutes a spoiler in any way, at least I hope not).
  9. I can't really comment on him because I have only heard what is on the radio and lord knows that's not always a good indicator. But the stuff I have heard has been just awful. I mean if "Your body is a wonderland" and "Daughters" is any indication of his other stuff than I want no part of it. I did see him play guitar in his trio on Leno or something and he is a good guitar player but it was nothing exceptional or that I have not heard from a decent bar band.
  10. I have been listening to a lot of Big Star lately so I thought I would throw on something completely different...
  11. I have a Chris Cornell Solo album that is actually really good. It's just him and an acoustic guitar and his voice is phenomenal. I did prefer Alice in Chains over Soundgarden though. I saw TAD open for Primus once, didn't do much for me although his threatening to stage dive was pretty damn funny.
  12. I have heard such mixed reviews on that album. I just need to give it a listen I guess.

I agree, that was great stuff and way too short. Thanks for posting. I wish I knew how he keeps those guitars in tune the way he abuses them.
  14. It really does depend on what you like to play. Since you don't already have an electric I would assume you are not playing heavy rock music. You can't go wrong with the 52 Fender Telecaster re-issue. It has become my main guitar because I can play anything from chickin pickin country to heavy rock and anything in between. Once it's set up correctly (probably by a professional) it plays like butter. I think they are selling for $1500 to $1600.
  15. Not as bad as I expected but not great.
  16. This song to me shows why Soundgarden was great.
  17. I still think Louder than Love and Badmotorfinger are the essential albums to get. I bought Louder than love when it first came out and it sounded so different than anything else around at the time. I saw them live once at some big festival with Queensryche, Faith no more, and a few others and they were great.
  18. Looks like a Peavey T-60 hanging up there. My first real electric guitar and I still have it.
  19. Not sure Cornell can still Rock like he used to but he always had great pipes.
  20. I agree and will start doing that. This one has been listed so many times I figured it was already known.
  21. Sounds like a great resolution to me. Just started this one:
