I actually like the new Christmas album but I think it could have been a classic if he would have done more "Must be Santa" and less "Silver Bells".
-
I would vote for Kiss over the Hollies any day but then again they had a much bigger impact on my life. As did The Cars, The Replacements, Cheap Trick, and many other bands that are not in yet.

Good to see this one on another list! I love this album.

OSHA did not play a big role on those job sites.

Let's hear B.B. King play "Rude Mood".
-
The B.B. playing one note and blowing someone off the stage story has been around forever with various happless guitarist being on the losing end. I'm sure it's been true on occasion. I would still rather here SRV who could also play with quiet restraint when necessary. I do get the point about some guitarists overplaying but then again I think overplaying is sometimes called for in songs.

I'm still going with Machine Gun but another one worthy of consideration is "Kid Charlemagne" by Steely Dan (Larry Carlton).
-
I like the sound of this.

I posted this awhile back in a rock and roll hall of fame thread because I think this was from an induction ceremony and it's one of my fave HOF moments? I like the guy holding him up when he is leaning backwards off the stage and him throwing his guitar up and walking out at the end. Definite showman. But not even close to the greatest guitar solo of all time. That belongs to Jimi Hendrix for the Band of Gypsy's version of Machine gun.

I was thinking the same thing. I remember hearing it was coming out and then I forgot all about it as I never heard anything. Looking forward to hearing it.

Sounds like the book to me. I will be going to see it, just have to get myself prepared. So good to hear it is well done.

Tinariwen - Imidiwan: Companions 6. Bob Dylan - Together through Life 7. Florence and the Machine - Lungs 8. Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport 9. Madness - The liberty of Norton Folgate 10. Dylan song to be the anthem in Copenhagen
Moss replied to Ghost of Electricity's topic in Someone Else's Song
Or maybe Shelter from the storm from the same album. -

Yeah, I don't mind working a little bit on a book but it stopped being fun and even really possible for me to understand it. At least I won't have it sitting on my nightstand taunting me anymore, I gave it a shot. I can't wait to read IJ, I have been holding off for the right time (like vacation) so I can really dig in to it. Good to hear it's a bit more accessible.

F*** you Pynchon and your 2 bit bullshit obscure minutia! Is he dreaming...no he's awake, wait a minute, it's the 200th new character being introduced. And why is it first person, I thought it was third person...wait no, it's back to first person. What does Cary Grant have to do with anything? And what's a Balaclava helmet? F*** you Pynchon for making me feel stupid. I quit.

Beautiful voice, great song, easy on the eyes...what's not to like?
