  1. Shopping for headphones, are you still pretty happy with these? This is about the right price range for me. Any other suggestions for headphones?
  2. I thought it was Barbara Streisand when he first came out. Great video though!
  3. The new Rolling Stone reminded me of my favorite rock hall of fame moment: Mike Love bagging on everybody in his speech Dylan coming up later and thanking Mike Love for not mentioning him in his speech. Second favorite: Prince does Beatles
  4. I actually did not realize how many of them there were until recently. The only other one I have watched was Steely Dan - Aja which I also really enjoyed. I was hoping you could just stream them on Netflix but it looks like that is not the case so I suppose I will work my way through them at some point.
  5. I just watched the first disc of season 1 and I am loving it. It's a good thing there were only 4 episodes on there as I would have been at serious risk of deep vein thrombosis had there been more. I watched them one after the other and could not stop. I was afraid to read this entire thread as I'm sure there are tons of spoilers but I look forward to checking it out later.
  6. I love that DVD. I have even greater respect for that album now. It's amazing what they had to do to get sounds that you could now make in 5 seconds with pro tools. Using a mic stand to wind tape around, 4 people mixing a track on the fly among other things. It's cool to hear various tracks by themselves also.
  7. Well I got tickets for U2 in June at Invesco Field in Denver. I went with the $58 nosebleed seats. Can't say I'm hugely excited as they will just be little tiny dots on the horizon but I figure the music will be good. I'm kind of ashamed I have never seen U2 before so that is one of the big drivers. I agree though, I have never been to a stadium concert that I would put in my top 100 favorite shows. And that includes all those "Day on the Green" and "Monsters of Rock" type festivals.
  8. Last nights Parks and Rec was the best yet. Favorite line: "On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed was he?"
  9. Streaming some Hop on Pop right now. Good stuff Todd! I like "Suckers" the best. I really like the guitar sound you got on the heavier version but the acoustic one sounds great as well. Very catchy. I would so love to be able to write a song like that.
  10. They sounded amazing to me but I never saw them live before. It was definitely more polished and structured then I would have thought but the music sounded great. On another note, the opening band for the show was "No Age". I was really, really not impressed, at all.
  11. I have bought at least 50 CD's this year but I'm not organized enough to keep track. What a great idea though. I would probably find out I'm spending way more money than I think I am. I will see if I can get a list together.
  12. What a haunting and beautiful song that is, gives me goosebumps every time. These guys are at the top of my must see list, can't believe I have never caught them live yet. I would love to get a picture with Patterson but would never have the guts to ask, I'm envious.
  13. I have read interviews that say he does not really practice much outside of getting ready for the occasional tour. He spends all his time fixing up cars in his spare time. Like you said, his skills have not diminished, he is as good as ever, maybe better.
  14. Great. I do love Danny Gatton. I just love that classic, chickin pickin, Telecaster style of playing. Like Redd Volkaert, James Burton, Albert Lee. Not something I really do myself but I admire it. Danny Gatton is on a whole other plane though.
  15. Very cool, I had no idea. I need to get this show immediately.
  16. Just saw the Pixies last night in Denver. Wow, they have become a big time rock band. Sold out 2 nights at the huge Fillmore. Big light show with video behind them. Loved hearing Doolittle in it's entirety.
  17. Fantastic! What a lineup, KISS, Pinky Toscadero, Billy Barty...
  18. I voted for REM but I'm rooting for Replacements to win.
  19. Good stuff. Still my favorite DBT album.
