Wow, I have not listened to this one in awhile, probalby because I only own it on Cassette. I always like this one.

Not sure where to post this info but I Just read that Tweedy sings backup on "Long Black Veil" on the new Rosanne Cash album "The List".

Way back in high school we were doing some substances when a friend starting getting kind of panicky. This is the exact song we put on to mellow things out and it worked like a charm. As far as Jimmy Page playing on stuff, he will be the first to admit he can't remember half of what he played on. In "It might get loud" he mentions that the legend of what he has played on has grown out of control to the point where he played on everything.

Matt Taibbi has been writing some of the most insightful articles on the financial crisis I have seen. His latest article about naked short selling will blow your mind. There is a great article on Big Star in the November MOJO magazine. Some great quotes from Alex like: "People say Big Star made some of the best rock'n'roll albums ever. And I say they're wrong" and "I still see myself as a poor songwriter. A few songs are good but many are real clunkers" and about Thirteen "That's one of my almost-good songs. I don't know where it came from but I made up this wild bit of guitar in 15 minutes. you don't hear many 20-year-olds doing that" I would kill to have written anything on those first 3 big star albums!

I certainly would not say no to something like that although like you said, I'll probably just get them all anyway.

It's amazing how this album grabbed me immediately after one listen. I'm really looking forward to delving deeper into their stuff. I seem to remember Paul McCartney making an appearance on one of their CD's chewing carrot sticks or something. Does that ring a bell?

I don't trust anybody that does not like The Beatles! Seriously Wild Frank, Kudos for you having the guts to throw that out there. I don't get it but I admire your grit! To me the Beatles will always be my desert island band but I can (kind of) understand where you are coming from.
