This was playing at Electric Fetus when I was there and it sounded amazing. My wife even asked me who it was and said I should get it. Some serious guitar on here.

The new Dinosaur Jr. album is really good although I don't think it is out for a few more weeks officially. My next purchase is probably "Planets are blasted" by Boston Spaceships The new Sonic Youth is also on the list. Phoenix I am liking the new Eels so far although only a little ways through it.

Thanks for the great review. I have never seen them live but they are at the top of my list for bands I really want to see. Curt is such an under rated guitar player.

And here I thought Wilco was considered "dad music".

Seemed like I was in the minority back than, I remember them being huge. I didn't mind the look or anything, the music just annoyed me.

I have to admit, I never understood or could stand Twisted Sister, or Quiet Riot for that matter.

Didn't get to do everything I wanted since the whole family was along but it was still a good time. Visiting the Buddy Holly crash site was kind of fun for some odd reason. Did some hiking around the Taylor Falls area. Hung out downtown a bit. Ate way too much, drank plenty of beer although not what I had wanted to try. Too much driving but other than that, a good way to spend a week out of work.

I almost picked up the Boston Spaceships while I was there but have not heard much about it yet. Since then a few people have told me it's up there with his best solo stuff.

So I am doomed to suffer through having the Nuggets be the Lakers Bee-yatch year after year. Why do I put myself through it?

Picked this up at Electric Fetus this week and I am really liking it so far.

If you can see this you're on the new server...

I drove to Minnesota, hung out for 3 days, and drove back during the outage. Just got back a few hours ago. Perfect timing. -
Good stuff! Thanks for the links.

Man, Lebron James' legend grows a bit with that game. He was just unconscious that whole 4th quarter.

I am so looking forward to hearing this. June 23rd is the date? PM's welcome.

I'm with you. Tell Tale Signs is just flat out amazing. I love Oh Mercy but some of the stuff on here makes me wonder if we got the wrong version of it. His cover of 32-20 blues just killed me as well.

Let me get this straight. I have to pay a buttload of money to grill my own steak? Do I have to bring my own salt and pepper? How much do I tip myself? Can I send it back if I burn it? Thanks so much everybody for all the great ideas. I am all over Electric Fetus, Surly's, Willie's, the museum. Perfect stuff! I'm actually getting more excited about the trip. My brother in law works at Chanhassen dinner theatre so I will be attending "Seven brides for seven brother" one night. Other than that I am open. I'm buying for anyone who wants to meet at Surly's or C and C's!

He has such a simple, terse style, it works really well for this book. What a harrowing book. Of course, I have been out of the academic mindset for quite a while.

Much as I hate to admit it (being a Nuggets fan) I think you are right. I am having a hard time picturing Denver winning a game 7 in LA. An Orlando/Denver series would be David Sterns worst nightmare, does not look likely.

I have played in bar bands for years and it never ceases to amaze me. You could play the hell out of even the most well known Wilco song and you will hear crickets chirping. You bust into "Pour some sugar on me" or just about anything by Nickelback and the place goes absolutely nuts. Even if Wilco were on the radio all the time, I just don't think you will get that reaction. There is just a huge contingent of people that want to hear simplistic, spoon fed music and find something like Wilco way too challenging. That sounds grossly patronizing and that's not how it's meant. I can respect

I'm kind of in the same boat. Spent some time with it the last few days and I am really liking it but not sure it's something I will pull out much down the road. Maybe my expectations are too high. I'm curious what their influences are. There is kind of a CSN&Y vibe on a few tunes. They definitely have their own sound. I'm only a couple spins through so I will give it some time. Animal Collective was a real grower for me and this could be the same.

It does kind of feel like tonights game could decide the ultimate champion. I think if Denver steals this one in LA they will probably win it all, I don't see LA winning the next 2, especially the one in Denver. If LA wins they have game 7 to look forward to at home (if it makes it there). The fact that Denver won the last one convincingly even though Melo and Chauncey did not have very good games gives me hope. Phil Jackson calling Dauntey Jones out as dirty was laughable. He is no more dirty than Kobe has been over the years. If Kobe thought he could trip someone and get away with it

I have heard him mention this math/rhythm thing a few times, most recently in rolling stone but as someone mentioned , Chronicles. He seems to refer to some 3 note or triplet patter and it sounds like a very specific method. He seems very free with the information and is not too secretive about it but then again nobody seems to understand what he is talking about. He even said he plays keyboards becaue he can't find a keyboard player that can do it correctly. I wish I knew what he meant but in listening to the recent records I'm not hearing anything other than pretty standard blues pattern

Good to hear because Steppin out is the first one I bought based on recommendations from people here. And I am loving it. For some reason I always feel like playing GD on sunny days when I'm driving around. There is something about them that makes them a sunny day band for me. Maybe because the only time I saw them was at golden gate park during the day? Maybe it's the relaxed vibe of a warm summer day where you don't have to be anywhere and can really dig in to it? Not sure.

She's a good guitar player, and good lord she has huge eyes.
