Also that strange unison falsetto harmony "is there anything I can dooooo" in Tell me Why. Always struck me as something only the Beatles would have been willing to do in a song like that.

He managed to throw some Hare Krishnas on the guide vocal! I know Starr wrote that song but he must have had a lot of help from George. Those great guitar arpeggios are all Harrison. Very cool, thanks for posting that.

Best thread ever, a few that come to mind: John's harmonies during the verses on Hey Jude Paul's bass behind the guitar solo in Something George's use of a volume pedal in I need you - I like how it's not right on the beat.
-
Don't want to continue to derail the thread with Hendrix but that machine gun from the Band of Gypsys album is the greatest piece of live guitar playing ever recorded. To get back to the subject at hand: Van Morrison

I think Page complained about Zeppeling 3 at one point. Said it looked "teeny bopper" or something. I kind of like the cover for Zep 2 but that inner sleeve is pretty ugly.

The tour he did with Booker T and the MG's is still one of the best shows I have ever seen.

John Paul Jones wrote a ton of In through the out door. And before someone says that's a negative, screw you I love that album. And shit, the bass on Lemon song makes a strong case for him. -

Amazing after all the books and videos and everything on the Beatles, there are still new things to learn. I never get sick of it. I had no idea about the sax. -
Is there a Joe Perry character on that show too?

Best show I saw last year easily. I'm holding out hope. Although the way they ended the show in Denver last year was a perfect way to go out for them. A nice Bob Hologram with him in a dress would be amazing!

But Clapton makes his guitar sound as if it is weeping in some way. -
Bummer, looks like they are switching to a different band for the CO date. I would love to see a double bill with Blitzen Trapper.
-
Heard Rod Stewart on Howard Stern and he made it sound like the only thing holding up a reunion was Ron Woods work with the stones. He seemed all for it.

In general, when Neil moves to piano or pipe organ I'm ready for a bathroom break anyway.

This will be my first purchase of the year, can't wait. Malkmus releases are always a big event for me.
-
There is a great video on youtube of them playing a show at a bike shop of some sort. Highly recommend. I would post the link but they block youtube here at work.

Since I already have a Fulltone Full drive, would this pedal add any value for me? Trying to decide what to get with my gift certificate. I have never used compression so was kicking that idea around as well.

Hot and racist I tell you! That ought to do it. -
Great album and I love the lyrics. More than a little Pavement influence which I consider a good thing. I only have the Light up Gold but plan to pick up the new EP they just released.

Beatles!

I like that quote about hearing Parquet courts and thinking it was Pavement.

Southern harmony is my favorite Crowes. And the Isbell is my favorite album of the year.

That song complements cheesy biscuits quite nicely.
