  1. I got mine about a week ago (Brown). It took awhile, but it is a great strap. The nylon underside, due to the fact that it is an old recycled seatbelt, makes it quite comfortable... and it's cool looking too.
  2. It is an awkward fingering. It took some practice to get it down. I do it with 1 (D 1st fret) 2 (B 1st fret) 3 (G 2nd fret) and 4 (high E 2nd fret).
  3. That is the D#dim chord. He does dig that one. On Ashes of American Flags too. Edit: D sharp diminished to clarify.
  4. I'll play: AGIB BT YHF W(TA) ST SBS AM
  5. You got it. It is E Esus4 and A for the verse. Pretty sure. Then for the "It's a secret... etc lines... D A D D#dim I don't care anymore... is Em A That's the whole song.
  6. Besides the obvious Sabbath... for me, Pantera is the greatest METAL band I have ever heard. Rythmic and intense. EDIT: I did like Crue at a point... pre-Theatre of Pain, and yeah, Megadeth...Mustaine is a damn good guitarist. They put out a few really good albums.
  7. Welcome to my world of reason, Moss. This may be why my wife handles the finances... Yes. I heard that he is putting Pronto on hold and recording an album of Producers cover tunes. Good Lord, I hope not.
  8. Yeah. I kinda think this^^^. I've been a fan of Eels since day 1 (good for me), and have been listening and gathering my sparse thoughts. There are a couple of songs that REALLY sound like other Eels tunes (much more than the BBN/Spiders or On and On and On/I'll Fight nonsense), but I don't care, they mos def sound Eels all the way (Souljacker/Shootenanny Eels at least, with that mouth-on-mic yelling stuff). I have not read the other reviews/posts, so I hope to not repeat too badly, but I will argue this album is quite different than the others (minus maybe some of Shootenanny) in one sign
  9. True. But it was like $40 at the Old Town School and GC for anything decent, and what they had was not that spectacular, so I figure for $25... why the F not. The other band member straps are pretty cool too.
  10. Sweet, dude! Was looking for a cool strap. Just ordered the brown one.
  11. The intro is capo 3 with hammer-ons on the following chords: Am C Dm Em
  12. Check out The Zutons. I love that band.
  13. Here is my know-it-all opinion. I would bet my left nut that this is a narrated song from the point-of-view of a Civil War Soldier that had been paid, his legally allowable, $300 fee to replace a citizen that had been drafted but did not want to fight. The Cilvil War was the first war with a Federal Draft, and this allowable pay off saved the lives of many children of wealthy land-owners, sending the less fortunate off to do the fighting. The wealthy draftees, some of them at least, would even make posters declaring the offer and a story of why they could not go to war and post them in town.
  14. Yup. Not my thing either. Not good. I just don't get why this is so revered.
  15. I like this song a lot. The intro is one of my favorite parts of the album. Crazy how the silly things they call opinions and taste can vary so much... I can't see how anybody wouldn't like this song. The lyrics to this song kind of make me tear up a bit.
  16. That is horrible news. I can't believe it! RIP, Jay.
  17. Spot on tab, Matt (the Z). The fingerpick part is just a Travis Pick that is a little off beat. Not that hard, really, just a little difficult to do it while singing (for me it took a bit of practice). 12 3 4 1 234 12 3 4 1 234 12 3 4 1 234 or TI T M T ITM TI T M ITM TI T M ITM, etc. I think all chords are played on the 4 INTERIOR strings or ADGB except the Em which is played on DAGB skipping the G. This should make sense (I think) if you're familiar with the Travis Pick style.
  18. Money aside... I really do feel bad for these celebrities in a lot of ways. They have lost the ability to participate in the human experience. No wonder so many of them are Scientologist raging sociopaths. I wish this whole celebrity culture would be replaced by SOMETHING enlightened and informative.
  19. More than deep, but not quite the deepest... but definitely low... kinda down.. ish.
  20. I hear you. But I'm calling it now. Hawks win the cup. I disagree with you on the finals match-ups. If they beat the Wings, all things considered, they should win it all. Like I said... the BEST Blackhawks team I have ever seen... not that that means they will win it all, but they have very few weaknesses, except for youth, and that lack of "affectation" seems to be serving them positively in the playoffs.
  21. This is true to a point. I can say that in Chicago there are many young professionals that go to the show to be seen... not for the music. This is most definitely... annoying. Not that they are not "true" fans, but that they won't shut the F up.
  22. The rivalry was there for a long time, and it will come back... seems like it kind of has already to me in a lot of ways. I am a long time Hawks fan, but I really do think the Blackhawks take the Wings in 6. I've been watching them since he early 80's, and even with those great early 90's teams with Belfour, Chelios, Roenick, etc THIS is the best Blackhawks team I have EVER seen. The youngest team in the NHL and already so skilled and refined in their play. I'm calling it now. Blackhawks win the cup... Pens in 6 too.
