According to this thread, it's not.

Does this mean you won't be attending the Madison show?
-
What if Americans created their games specifically to be more high-scoring?
-
But how often does that happen? You're way more likely to see scoreless or low-scoring games in soccer.
-
Americans are all about the money shot. Soccer fans are capable of appreciating a 0-0 game, but most Americans want to see someone score, dammit.

If you've already put it on your list, this is probably unnecessary , but I'm also a big fan of the Non Required Reading series. Highly highly highly recommended.
-
Hey, now that you say it I totally see the resemblance!
-
Nice, thanks! I'll have to look for that. Great songs, and so much fun to watch.

Good times! I'll agree with all of ms yvon's sentiments, every minute of the show was a joy. I'd seen MMJ before, with M Ward at the Fillmore a few years ago, and opening for Wilco in Philadelphia, but this was the first time I'd fully appreciated them.

Owen is a lot more popular than you think. http://babynamewizard.com/namevoyager/lnv0105.html I love the name Celia.

Huh, I wouldn't have thought it was all that unusual. Although now that I think about it, he's singular; and you're plural, right? So, not exactly the same.

Chris, I met a guy recently who has the same whole name as you, first and last.

The pronunciation of Maura is the same as Maire, which is the Gaelic for Mary, so your wife is right, it's the same root of the name. Maureen (Mairin in the Gaelic spelling) is the diminutive of Maura. The Virgin Mary is "Muire" in Irish, that spelling is reserved to refer specifically to her. Traditional Irish greetings, the equivalent of "Hello, how are you?" and "I'm fine, thanks": Dia duit. [God be with you.] Dia is Muire duit. [God and Mary be with you.] Edit: Oh yeah, and for Maura, you can also use the cool nickname "Mo".

My grandmother's older sister was Mary, and Grandma is Margaret. Once at a family party, an in-law was stunned when it was pointed out to her that there were three generations of Nancy Annes sitting in a row. Apparently on her side of the family no one was ever named after anyone else. And don't get me started on the Dans in my family!

Thanks guys! I honestly would have thought it would have made some kind of jump recently, what with the trend for more old-fashioned sounding names (all of those Sams and Sadies...). I think Loretta Lynn is a fantastic name (as is Jamila!). I'm reminded of the singer Patsy Montana, whose name was changed for her career. Her actual name was Ruby Rose, which I think is about 1000x cooler than Patsy Montana. A (youngish, white) guy in my office has daughters named Ruby and Selma. When a friend of mine heard that, she said "oh, I didn't realize you worked with a sharecropper." And MChris

My name is seriously due for a resurgence. Maud, Maude and Maudie have not made the top 1000 since the 1940s. Parents-to-be, this is your chance to get in on the leading edge of the next "hot" name!

http://babynamewizard.com/namevoyager/lnv0105.html I've done pretty much nothing else for the past few days. This is absolutely fascinating to me.

I've got such an insanely long to-read list at the moment. Saturday is on there, and I still need to read Look At Me by Jennifer Egan! Oh my god, that looks great! It's my dream to someday attend (as a spectator ) the hot dog eating contest at Coney Island.

The first season was great, but the second and third veered off into more unintentionally-ridiculous plots, rather than the goofy fun I would have preferred. I think this season's not bad though. Marissa's death at the end of last season really helped!

If you're really a freak about it, you can take that out (I usually do, because yeah, I'm really a freak about it).

Criminey, how many times am I going to have to lock this thing?

I've been waiting for this one. OK, now that this thread has been graced by Mr. S. Flynn, the birthday celebrating is officially complete. Luckily, I missed those years. I only know Lucas as a short man with anger management issues, which is so my type (yeah, that's actually true ). Mart, Patti, Julie, and everybody else: Love you!

Trish got this for our brother last year! (bad VHS transferred to DVD )

Yay Thanksgiving birthdays! Happy day!
