  1. Apologies to all who were so prompt in getting their lists in, but... I will not be able to get results out today, as promised. This project, and the spreadsheet, have gotten away from me. I'll make every effort to get it out to you all in the next week.

    New Wilco Podcast

Two things I love about this thread: First, this little time-capsule of a statement: And the valiant searcher who managed to dredge up a three-year-old thread instead of starting a new one. Seriously, I love that! Haven't downloaded the podcast yet, though.
  3. I've got a few more submissions. Thank you! Keep 'em coming...
  4. Yeah, this probably would have gone over a lot better in our group.
  5. OK, the deadline is being extended to the August 8, with results to be announced by August 15. I'll go change the first post now! Expect nudges to go out this weekend...
  6. Sorry for neglecting this project for a while, folks! I've been working on a different project, now completed. B, I've received a total of 11 peoples' votes... which is not enough! Some of you haven't been notified yet that I've received your votes, but look for that this weekend, at the latest. Those of you who haven't voted yet, but have posted in this thread (not just if you posted a list, if you've posted anything at all) can expect to hear from me soon, nudging you to send in a list. Same goes for people who submitted a list for the last one, I'll nudge those folks again, too. I'
  7. So, we didn't win the iPad, and I'm not going to So You Think You Can Dance. But... I raised $1665, with the help of some ridiculously generous VCers! Big thanks and kisses to: tugmoose plasticeyeball sex nap (the artist formerly known as Speed Racer) Matt (the Z) watch me fall Jen, Ben and the kitties Preferred B and the lovely and talented Mr. bböp Hope I didn't miss anyone! Love you all.
  8. Thank you for the bump, Mr. Crow. And thank you for the donation, Mr.(theZ)! MattZ is now in the running for a FREE IPAD! No, seriously. For every $250 I get in on-line donations, I get an entry into a drawing for some fabulous prizes: an iPad, and a trip for two to attend the taping of the finale of So You Think You Can Dance. My mom and I have already agreed that if we win the trip, we're going! But if I win the iPad, I'm going to give it to one of my oh-so-generous donors. So get in there, folks! FREE IPAD!!!
  9. Hey folks, just a reminder that you've still got three weeks to get your picks in. I've got some really cool/interesting submissions so far, but I'd like to see a lot more! In a couple of weeks, if things haven't picked up, I'm going to start leaning on some people.
  10. AIDS Walk next weekend! http://awsf2010.kintera.org/maudiemc If anyone could kick in, I'd very much appreciate it. I've already got a very generous donation from a very generous VCer on the board. Anyone else? Any other walks, bikes, dance-a-thons, etc.?
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VMxt-MqTiI It's been a good year!
  12. That's a great picture, but yeah, the inclusion of Clinton makes it extra hilariously fabulous.
  13. Also to keep in mind: This is the top 100 albums of the participants in this thread on this particular message board, during this particular summer! I know some people love the list-making process and keep running lists, but for a lot of people, their lists will be made up of albums that they love right now, based on what's new, what classic albums they're brought back to by listening to the new stuff, what speaks to them at this moment in their personal lives, etc. I think one of the things that's going to be interesting is to see which albums aren't on this list, compared to the last rou
  14. Yes, very cool, thanks! I will also be downloading. Also, new rule (not really): No more picking albums that aren't already on the list! Even cutting and pasting from your e-mails, they're a pain to add in. I'm telling you, this "top 50" business is going to drive me over the edge!
  15. This is shaping up to be complete insanity. With only 3 voters chiming in so far, there are 139 different albums on the board, including 66 new ones, that weren't on the list at all last time around.
  16. Two people have sent in their lists, and we've already got 97 different albums.
  17. Yeah, I think for a lot of people, it's a question of a big drop-off after a certain number. Not that you can't come up with 20, or 50, or whatever, but after your top 10 maybe, you're just not nearly as passionate about the next batch. Anyway, everyone send me what you can. And if you don't have 50, start horse-trading in this thread to throw a few extra points to someone else's #51!
  18. And you are the first person to get asked: dude, seriously? I'm not saying I'm not going to take it, but...
  19. Having heard no complaints about Top 50 lists (aside from my own ), that's what we'll be doing. Rev 'em up, folks! Give me your Top 50 of all time, let's see what ya got!
  20. Maybe she's over her "taxation without representation" phase, too.
  21. Agreed! A lifetime ago, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and physical discs were still traded through the mail, I had to quit doing B&Ps because it made me nuts that people couldn't follow the most simple instructions. Based on the above, I'm going to say: probably not. Even though in a perfect world this would be the way to go, if I got anything from anyone that screwed up the master spreadsheet, I'd probably go ballistic. I'm hanging by a thread at the best of times, people! No, thanks for the suggestion, and I should probably work on figuring out an easier way to do th
  22. Yeah, I was taking the request for 100 as not even in the realm of possibility. So I was kind of hoping that 40 would be seen as the happy compromise offer! But I know, I know, if I could do 40, why not 50... Thanks for your offer of help, too.
