Thanks so much for the link. I especially like seeing the comments and pictures from women whose babies she caught.

If any of you ever get a chance to check out the campfire, do it! It's pure happiness.

No, I'm not saying they were the big selling point for the HM tour. My point is more that the Disney Channel is pushing these acts, and tweens are eating them up. I think they could show Lawrence Welk reruns on the Disney Channel right now, and kids would be lining up to see him "live".

Not only did the Hannah Montana show sell out every venue, but tickets were being scalped for way over face value. I'd imagine they could put these guys in more venues in more cities, for multiple nights, for higher ticket prices, and still sell out a lot of shows. And really, if you think these guys are bad, check out that Naked Brothers link that Analogman posted. Oh dear lord...

Aidan Gillen! He's great. Circle of Friends, Some Mother's Son, the UK Queer as Folk...

Too late! She's in. I'll keep you posted.

She's sitting here right next to me, with the fabulous new knitting bag that I got her for christmas. I'll see what I can do.

I'm sure that Natalie would have loved this. Thanks to you both for doing this. Kate, I'm reposting your other photos here, because they're so beautiful, and I don't want anyone to miss them:

I was just going to say, my mom could do one of those in a weekend.

That is exactly what I was thinking, but I didn't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it. Very discreetly phrased on your part.

This is exactly why I relate to him so much. -

In my fairy tale ending to this story, these two agree not to breed (they could adopt!), move to Natopia, and live happily ever after.

Dark suit. Dark shirt. Looks like a grey tie (although, my pictures from that night are crap). Hi Bob!

A little remembrance of Natalie for VCers

I especially like When in fact, this is what snopes.com has to say.

Let's all take a step back and a deep breath, OK? Kate started this thread with the intention of discussing the primary results, making predictions, etc. We can all champion whichever candidates we like, but there's no need to personally attack people for their political choices. Keep it civil, please.

As promised, Natalie's lovely voice: California Stars Kamera Song for Myla Goldberg Book of Love And here's Nat with Jane, the original timelinechick, performing on the first VC Tribute CD as Flimsy: Box Full of Letters (these were recorded under varying circumstances at varying quality; if you turn up the volume for California Stars, be sure to turn it back down before clicking on Box Full of Letters!)

We're not quite sure how this happened, but this was available at Amoeba Records last week.

I've spent all day going through the archives and having a great laugh over St. G's greatest hits: Postcarders who attempt to invade will be taken away to the O'Rourke suite for "re-education." Seriously, in the spirit of Nat's mom's comment, and Mr. K's post, it's got to be the best way to remember Nat.

Thanks to you both for keeping us in the loop. I was thinking something similar this morning. Nat was musical, crafty, a fabulous writer, a midwife(!)... all in addition to being a caring friend. She lived her life well.

The little guy is a major chatterbox most of the time, but the minute BZ arrived, he clammed up entirely. And the middle one, the girl in the stripes on the left, absolutely refused to smile in a picture with santa earlier that day. That picture captures the closest thing to a smile I've seen on her face in months.

I told her I wanted to tell the kids about that, but I was forbidden to do so! I'm afraid that this may be the only remnant of the Sentient Action Figures left in the archives. If anyone has any of the others, I'd love to see them again.

Every single one of us loved her. The last time she was here, she spent ages talking to my mom and my aunt about her midwifery studies, and then she told a slightly racy joke in front of the kids, which they thought was hilarious. I'm sorry to say that I didn't spend enough time chatting with her recently. You never think that someone like her is just going to be gone one day. I assumed my world would always have Natalie in it, somewhere out there, whenever I needed her.

Natalie had a lovely singing voice, too. If you get a chance, check out the posted links in the sweetaddy thread. I'll post what I have of her singing in here, when I get home tonight. Natalie, Trish and I sang Wilco karaoke with live piano accompaniment in Oakland one night. I laughed so hard that night. This is crazy.
