Someone posted this on their Facebook page last night....killer stuff. They made mention of the mustache less Iommi looking like Greg Brady's older brother. -

To me, using live LPs is cheating....a bit of editing after the fact to toss out any supposed chaff and glom together songs that can span years. Why not just choose 'greatest hits' records as well while we're at it. -
I have no idea.

sadly, i expect that we'll lose more.

what? i think you buy different records than me. there are certainly labels much older than 10 years that have been putting out limited releases. and before that, there are plenty of records that were limited pressings because that was all the artist or label could afford at the time. -

yeah, that sort of approach makes the most sense. collector scum will spend $$$ for what they want, and fans will spend $ for what they want. -

supply and demand. hurry now, supplies are limited! operators are standing by. i fall for this a lot. but there's a truth to it...a lot of times now, if i don't buy an LP within a few weeks of release, it'll be gone and the likelihood of repress is small. -

like i said, this was a tough year with a lot of really great shows. i only saw them once, in Newport, and while it was a good show it wasn't their best by far (don't get me wrong, i still liked the show). the only show i saw at Newport that really drew me in was Sharon Van Etten's. i didn't see day 3 so i can't comment.

I saw a ton of shows...just put up a post at my site that includes my favorite shows and a gallery of my favorite shots of 2012: http://photos.tinnitus-photography.com/blog/2012/12/recap-of-2012

There's gotta be a new Neko Case, right? And add Nick Cave to the list. -
Did I go to the only 4 set Wilco show ever?
tinnitus photography replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Just A Fan

bböp, thanks for the info! i never did get a chance to play poker w/ Albini at one of the ATPs where he hosted a couple of tables. Maybe some day.

-
what was the Albini portion like?

i guess that was the $40 pay per view i noticed while flipping through the channels last night. i watched a few episodes of Chopped instead.

I saw the 2nd to last concert that Ronnie James Dio performed, and his voice was STAGGERINGLY good. I was shocked at how great he sounded. He was 66 at the time.
-
it is better, but he no longer has the power he had. it's not surprising...his singing style was brutal on his vocal cords.
-
i guess you are not a Clash fan, eh?
-
i guess it shouldn't surprise me that some Wilco fans aren't on board w/ Chuck D's music, but questioning his influence?
